close to 28 dollars! for friggin labels!!??
Anyone else have any other possibilities for online labels with less expensive shipping. Do either of the Jasons sell blank sheets?
Still don't know wether I'm going the "do your own" label route - or a "get them to do it for you" (jason's) route.

Well, I also live in Canada (Ottawa), and I just ordered my labels from OnlineLabels.com. I'm assuming you want to print them yourself (that's what I did).
When you check out, you will actually get two options - UPS standard for about $10.50 and DHL Express for about $28 dollars. The main difference is that DHL includes the brokerage fee for customs, which can be about $10 - $15 extra if you use UPS. So I chose the DHL option - total cost for 100 sheets + shipping was $88USD, or about $98CDN (love that exchange rate!). The order arrived in less than 24 hours, and I had no GST to pay (you may not be so lucky).
By the way, I had ordered samples from them - the 1" round vinyl, but I found it almost impossible to properly line up. I STRONGLY suggest that you buy the "full sheet" single vinyl label, then just use a 1"' craft punch to cut them out. I use a 1" round Marvy Uchida punch (cost me $12), and I can punch out 63 labels (1 sheet) in about 5 - 7 minutes. That way, you get a centered label everytime (and as an added bonus, they are MUCH faster to peel, and therefore apply, than the precut sheets).
BTW, applying the labels is actually very fast, once you get the hang of it. Don't let that put you off.
Anyway, hope this helps. If you haven't ordered samples already, you may want to do that, but I can confirm the extremely high quality of this product - you can print at the maximum resolution (in many ways, the printout comes out nicer that on my glossy paper), the "feel" is great and you have to really dig into it with your fingernail to damage the print. I cannot say enough about these labels.
