Just wondering if anybody had ever tried to use a circle cutter or circle punch to cut out labels after they printed them. I think it might work. I know it would involve a lot of labor but it would eliminate the printer alignment issues. You can pick up a punch or cutter that will do 1" circles pretty cheap at scrapbooking stores. Any thoughts?
My thought would be one of "WOW THAT WOULD BE A LOT OF WORK!"
I use round die punches (here at the office, my graphics shop) and let me tell you that does not sound fun. I once had to punch holes for 80 grommets and my hands were still buzzing the next day from the hammer blows.
I think that I would rather buy 5000 lables to get 1000 good ones, than to punch out 1000 circles by hand.
The printer that Jason (Hog Wild) uses to print his labels does exactly what you describe. The labels are cut after they have been printed.

thanks for the replys. I am still weighing my options. I have a sister that is really into scrapbooking and will see if she has a cutter or punch that i can borrow and then maybe do a little experimenting
He sent me the pictures of the printer before he bought it. We have a similar one at work by another company (no die cutting though). It's maybe a little more than just your typical inkjet, the printer is about 5 feet wide and the printing stock that goes into it can be as wide as 40". It's also a little noisier than your typical home-use inkjet as well, and you're right, it does cost a little more
Oh yeah! Get your sister to do all the dirty work, I like it. WHat did she do to deserve that? I can see the CTS lawsuit coming. It will take days to cut out 500 by hand. Cheaper to get the made!
