NCV instead?

I wasn't going to do any inlays for more flexibility but what about getting the look of a casino chip inlay without a value? This would be for Paulson's as an example but still not sure if it will be them, ASM or TRKing that I will get, and not even sure if the others offer a NVC inlay. What do you guys think?

Thanks

Re: NCV instead?

the flexibility of NCV's is great. You can play cash games at .50/1.00 or tournamants at World Series Final Table levels 50,000/100,000 with the same chips.

However the most nagging question you will get at your games is: How much is the green chip worth? We changed from cheapo NCV's to Paulson Pharoahs because our gruop of players couldn't remember the values, even after 13 tournaments.

Ipersonally would stay away from NCV's, however it is just my opinion.

Re: NCV instead?

I am also about to make a large purchase of clay chips (500-600)and will probably go with the NCV chips. We play tourneys and cash games and would like the chips to be versatile. Not to mention none of my cheap friends will spend any cash on some chips.

Re: NCV instead?

I went with NCVs because:

1. I wanted the flexibility
2. I didn't want my chips to have dollar symbols on them (I'm in the UK)

I have never had an issue with people asking what each colour means, I tell them at the start, and everyone remembers. However, i never use the flexibility that the NCV gives, so red is always worth 5, green 25 etc. I may one day, but not so far.

Re: NCV instead?

Even though I don't do any tournaments, at least not yet, you never know when it might happen or if you sell your chips which might not matter either. Just considering all of my options before buying. Never had any issues with people forgetting the chip values but it does come up before the game starts. It seems to be a give and take with owning chips, you just can't have your cake and eat it too unless you buy all the chips in world

So I need to decide if I want chip values which is nice, but I figure if I'm not going to have any values or have a protected chip (and wait forever and overkill for a cheap game) then I might as well get the inlay look with flexibility. Of course it's only money.
