What type label is best for ASMs?
What molds of ASMs accept labels best?
I'm aware that HH accept labels well. Any other mold accept labels as well?

Any advice on advantages/pitfalls of labelling these chips is appreciated.

The group buy was for plain Horseheads - so most people will have experience with those.

I have a few Horsehead, circle/square and 1 A-mold samples - they all should take labels ok - but the center is not very recessed.

Come on guys & gals - help the new guy out - anyone label ASM's other than Horseheads?

I believe the circle/square mold will work fine.

Don't know for sure about the size, I think it will depend on the mold. Either 7/8" or 1". Jason (Cin0s3) can tell you all about it and help you with design and printing of the labels. Shoot him a PM.

Vinyl labels are much thinner. I am in the process of labeling about 2000 faux clays with the vinyl labels. And I have previously labaled a bunch of other chips with paper labels. No comparison in my book. Vinyl is pricey, but worth it, especially if you are labeling clay chips.

From my experience, CS ASM's can take a 7/8" label but it makes spinners, HH can take a thin 7/8" label very well and not create a spinner. "A" mold can take a 1" label but will cause spinners. These are about the only ones I've owned or had samples of. If I were making a decision right now I would go with the "A" mold, it may not sound like much but that exta 1/8" of label can allow for alot more detail in a design. Right now I would stay away from Ripped Sheets for labels, they seem to have either been bought out by another company or just dont care about their customers any more. I had alot of issues on the back end of the last group buy with them and will never use them again. The vinyl stock that you can get from www.onlinelabels.com right now is a great material for any chip and is just a hair thicker than the RS stock that I used. Hope this helps. Expect to pay more than the normal 25-40 dollars for vinyl labels.

Can I ask what kind of problems?
I was going to get some because they were the thinest for my faux clays.
I don't think a thicker label will work well.
Also while we are at it do you have to spray the vinyl labels?

Ink was pealing off and wouldnt stick to the material and the sheets were horribly crooked, I went thru about 200 sheets to finish the last 5 or 6 I had to get out.

THe last batch I got from them was fine but I did have a lot problems before them

Thanks for this. I have some folo up questions (feel free to issue clues at anytime)

-- I'm on their website, and I cant seem to find either vinyl labels or 7/8 inch labels. Is this a non-starter? Can I use 1 inch or 3/4 inch? I have HHs I may label over holidays.

-- Are vinyls and inkjets incompatible?

-- Any other alternatives besides these and and ripped?
