What exactly is the best Faux Clay label?

I will be buying a couple thousand labels and know to buy 1" lables but WHICH 1" label (what material?).
I've gone to a couple sites and there are many choices.
and is it correct to also spray the labels?
If so, What exactly do I spray them with?
Thanks in advance!

Re: What exactly is the best Faux Clay label?

I would suggest you get 7/8" labels instead of 1". Reason being that the 1" will exceed the diameter of the center area where the label goes and you will have to fold it over in the the "channel" between the center area and the edge where the dice are. This is a pain in the butt and to me looks bad. I have 7/8" vinyl labels from rippedsheets.com. These are much thinner than standard paper labels and I think you will find this results in better stacking, feel, etc. A member of this forum, Cin0s3, has conducted 2 GB's of these labels (they are not cheap) and can also help you design and print the labels if you need the help. He can certainly lead you to the label stock. Good luck.

Yes I here the same about the 7/8".
If you are not in a big rush I am thinking about starting up a label group buy or trying to get someone to do it in the next week or 2.
I need enough to do 2500 chips myself.

If you want the vinyl labels, I think we got a price of $3.02/sheet (80 labels each of the 7/8 inch size) with an order of 100 sheets. Without that, those sheets are around $6 each, I believe.

Re: What exactly is the best Faux Clay label?

Thanks for the 7/8ths info but I know a member used 1" labels and painstakingly pushed the edges in the groves.
Members oohed and ahhed and then one member suggested buying a piece of pipe just the right diameter to push the edges down in one fell swoop.
This was my plan ... (wish I could find the posting).
So, is vinyl the right type of label? and do I need to spray them with a matte finish spray before applying?
Thanks again!
Oh, and would someone PM me Jason's e-mail? I lost it....

Re: What exactly is the best Faux Clay label?

I used 1 in. paper labels from onlinelabels. I painstainkly smoothed all the injection spots on the chips and used a paperclip to push them into the recess and it was well worth the time. I think there's no other way to do it.

I'm interested in a label group by for faux clay chips myself. Not in a big hurry at all. I'm thinking of either 1000 or 1500. Please include me should you initiate the group by.

Re: What exactly is the best Faux Clay label?

If I might interject ...

I find this simply fasicinating that people would be willing to pay more for the blank labels than they paid for the chip itself (in some cases it may be more than twice as much for two labels, one for each side). Note, this is before the cost of printing the labels. Even with group buy prices, the labels would end up costing more than the chips themselves.

Just an observation.

Re: What exactly is the best Faux Clay label?

I will be buying the 1" labels, thin as possible and perhaps vinyl.
The primary reason I asked for advice was to find the most economical source for the best type of label.
