Here is my first crack at labels .... please dig in

Here are a couple of samples from my first try. Please critique them. I've found it quite an interesting experience so far. Learning unfamiliar software is always fun (or did I mean frustrating?)

Not sure if I am doing any of this right. I Started out in Illustrator where I created a 1" circle and most of the text. Photoshop seemed limited in this, especially wrap-around text. I then exported everything as a photoshop file. Each item was put on it's own photoshop layer. Once it was in photoshop I turned layers on and off, played with scale and positioning. And that's where I stand.

So what is the feeling for this one? I wanted to keep it light hearted, hence the child's riding toys. Any thoughts on the fonts? Theme? ... etc.

What's next? When I look at these beside the Jason's casino chip they look amateurish (which they are). I realize I only have one inch to work with (no jokes please). There is only so much you can fit in before it begins to look too crowded.

Thanks,

eddyjacks

ps. I've tried to upload an attachment but it's my first try. So if it's not there I''ll give it another go.

On a 1" label, you'll want to allow some room for alignment and printer creep, so keeping your printed area into a 7/8" (.875) to .90" area will minimize label waste. The denominations should be easily readible, you might want to print your design out on paper to see if that is the case with your denominations, they look might be a little small for easy recognition. Insofar as the curved text, you might want to try it with all upper case as it generally has to be a small font size, and casinos generally use all upper case to enhance readability.

Great first try. Maybe I'll give it a try too. Yours came out pretty good for a beginner.

Fabulous!

I love what you've done with the design. The font changes are great and I like how you reversed the gradient. You've made your self a sale my man. Now I need $1 and $500 denominations. I think the Krazy Car for the $500 might work. I had a blue one when I was a kid but this yellow one was all I could find. I might buy a new one for my kids for Christmas (only fair 'cause it looks like Daddy's getting poker chips for his present)

Thanks for the design imput. I'll be ordering my Nexgens ASAP and then I'll contact you via e-mail. Again if there is anything anyone would like to add I welcome all input.

Thanks,

Eddyjacks

I think the chips look great, but my mind is not reading "Fast Eddy" when I look at it, I'm seeing more "Fas-Teddy"...

This is my second time reading this post, I loved them at first sorry for not posting. Now after reading jalsings, I can see what he means. Maybe a little space between not much just a bit will correct that. But I love this idea you can up with and they will look great either way.

I see it too! (Now that you mention it.) Maybe making the "T" just a wee bit smaller would work.

That Krazy Car looks like a blast. Do they make those in adult sizes? I want one.
