Input on custom labels, please. (Updated)

Hi, my name is Carlos. I am new to this board and am enjoying it very much. I am looking for any input, help, suggestions or criticisms on my design for a custom label for the Nexgen Lucky bees that I have coming in. I am doing them with Photoshop Elements, and as you might be able to tell I'm not very good at it nor am I artistically inclined. I am getting five of the colors, however I have only worked on the blue so far. Just a little note on the name, all of the people I play poker with are musicians (mariachis, to be precise). I hope you like them, if not let me know. Thanks for all the help.

P.S. Sorry about the size, I didn't realize they were going to be so big and I couldn't figure out out to reduce them.

Here are the mock ups for all of the chip colors I am getting. I've matched the color of the chip with the shading. Increased the font size. I haven't changed any of the wording though. That will come later. The quality isn't that good, if you all want i'll post them again but bigger.

Re: Input on custom labels, please.

That is a nice design, straight foward, simple, and classy looking. Do you and your group all speak spanish? I am just assuming this due to the fact that your all mariachis. Please don't be offended.

I ask this because I think it would be kind of cool to have all the words in spanish, I don't know if Poker translates or not, but club should? Also the denoms could be in pesos.

Just my 2 bits
(that saying actually came from the use of Spanish pesos!!)

Re: Input on custom labels, please.

We do all speak spanish, but poker does not have a real translation and club is spelled exactly the same. Only the word order is changed, It would be "Club de Poker". As for the denominations. I don't really want to put any because I want to use these chips both for tournaments and for low limit cash games, so they are going to be switching between dollars and cents. Thanks for the help.

Re: Input on custom labels, please.

I like the very classic design. If poker doesn't translate into Spanish - how about 'House of Cards" - Casa del ? I think it would add charcter to your set.

For the other colors - are you going to match the denomination color to the chip body color and the text to an edge spot color?

Matthew

Re: Input on custom labels, please.

Great colors for the wording, denom, and Mariachi. Something that I've seen on a lot of other Nexgen chips is people have made the outer rim of the label blend into the chip color. It's hard to get an exact color match, but that may look better on some of the chips than just the black shading that you have.

Great chips - I especially like the denomination size/font/color.

Re: Input on custom labels, please.

Looks like a nice simple design. The text seems a little small. Also, just seems like the graphic should have a more muisc theme and the label should be louder & more colorful...

Ran across these...

If this one was only head on...

I like these...

Re: Input on custom labels, please.

I really like them! Sometimes the inlays can get crazy and overwhelming, IMHO. The simple silhouette is very nice. And I like the "El Mariachi" idea.

Thumbs up Re: Input on custom labels, please.

Thanks for all the help.

Matthew: I am going to match the letters, silhouette, and denominations to the body color.

Fins: I agree that the word type is to small, I will try to make it a little bigger. Thanks for the pics, but I think I like it better simple.

Q10 soooted: Thanks for the suggestion on the shading. I will be sure to try it out.
