Tournament foil stamp. Discuss Tournament foil stamp, on ChipTalk.net the place to go for your Poker chips and gambling tips. Read it in Poker Chip Labeling.
Hi all, I am looking to come up with some dies for our foil stamping, specifically Tournament stamps, I kind of like the idea of having the "ring" around the edge with the words tournament knocked out, what do you think?
I am looking for any kind of feedback on the design, Fonts placements.
A few ideas I am toying around with:
dropping "NCV"
dropping $ for T (so it would read T25 & T100 on the chips instead of $25 & $100)
using different color foils for the "ring" and the "denoms"
The following are mockups of the design and its usage on chips, Please keep in mind that foil will always look different due to its reflective nature and the lighting surrounding it.
also thrown in are a couple of the dual colored foil mockups.
and a few random colors for the dual idea
Please respond with any and all thoughts on this project.
Thanks
-Paul
I kinda like the it the you way already have them. The only thing is that it is very hard to read the yellow $1000 chip. It might just be the way it shows on my monitor and is ok on real chip.
These look great. Typefaces are nice. I agree with dad604 about the foil on the 1000 chip. What about different colored foils on each chip, instead of multiple colors on the same chip....that would make it easier to read. Also, the $500 is a little close to the ring, just makes it a little too tight for my eye. Overall, VERY nice, and way better than 99% of all the foil stamped chips I've seen.
Also, I dont think you need the NCV at all. It's not like someone will mistake these for actual value chips. It also keeps it visually simpler and cleaner.
I'd consider no $ or T... just the number only. Also, might look at increasing the height of the 1000 and 5000 maybe Ht = 120%+ at that same width. I'm ambivalent regarding the NCV.
Looks good.

I think they look absolutely fantastic. I like those two-tone ones.
I'm wondering about a couple of things:
a) Will they look that good when you actually get hotstamps? Is there enough precision/resolution in that process so that the text will look that sharp in practice?
b) Can you hotstamp other chip models, as well? I was thinking that an ASM CS or Roman mold might make a nice alternative to the Nexgen and Faux Clays.
c) what would be the price of these chips?

1. Will the die work well on stamping using that much foil transfer, or will it leave a bunch of residue on the chip and the stamping press. One recent example that you may want to think about are the Casbah Club chips from TR King.
2. Given that your objective may be to create a casino like design of a casino tournament chip, you may want to scrap the currency designation (also allows for international sales to countries where the dollar is not the local form of currency) and spell out the words "No Cash Value" as they are printed on casino tournament chips.
