I want to put a set of custom labels together for a set of Nexgen chips. Anyone have experience which are the best labels to use. I see paper, weather proof, gloss, laser , inkjet advertised. Which are most durable? I seem to remember that some of the casinos in Vegas used some time of linen cloth for their chips back in the late 70s and early 80s. Anyone know of a source for this type of label? Thanks in advance for any information you can share with me.
Insofar as your reference to the "linen" that's a clear plastic overlay that is placed over the printed inlay on the chip and then the chip is pressed to form the mold and imbed the inlay into the chip. It is the finish from the compression molding process that gives it that cross hatched or linen finish.
You might want to read the article on this site at http://www.chiptalk.net/forum/cms_articles.php and go over some of the other threads in the Chip Labeling forum. It should answer most of your questions and give some additional information as well.

The ASM group buy used ww.rippedsheets.com. They're a vinyl label and they came out great. I'd highly reccommend them. They're also the thinest label out there which is nice fro chips that aren't recessed.
I'm a little confused. I don't really understand the economics of using a $3-5 per sheet label, when a 50¢ per sheet label (poly) will work adequately (0r 19¢ per sheet for paper.) The Nexgens are adequately recessed to accept a label, I'm not sure what advantage may be gained from using one from ripped sheets.
