You should look at the ripped sheets group buy. There would be lots of details there. Also shoot Cin0s3 and Lynbark Designs an email they are the resident label printing experts, there are also many others who know more than I do.
I think buying rippedsheet labels for $3+ a sheet and then proceding to print them on an inkjet printer would be an alignment nightmare. I tried printing just regular paper labels on my inkjet about 2 years ago and gave up because of the inconsistencies with inkjet printers. If you do go ahead with it make sure your design has lots of room to float around. If its that important that detail be the highest quality I would take the sheets to a proffesional printing place and pay them $1+ a sheet to print them.
