Chips: 42 | | | Can these 9g Vegas chips be labeled? I might have lucked my way into a free set of these chips. I do not have a big enough budget to get in on a set of wonderful customs (I came close to pulling the trigger on the ASM's but had to pull back). I have a set of Diamonds now (metal slugged, crappy) but my favorite chip on TV are the RT Plastics (Bellagio, most famously).
Anyways, I think these are the closest entry level chip I can get to them, and I might be getting a free set!
I am leaning toward the blanks, because I presume they would be easiest to label, if I decide to go that route. I haven't been on ChipTalk in a while...can someone lend some insight about labeling these?
Thanks![/img] |

Chips: 2,570 | | I like these chips. I have 1,200 of the kind in the first row and I got all mine free too (I'm thinking the same place probably).
They have a really nice weight (9g), sound (no metal insert) and feel (kinda chalky, not "plasticky" at all). I was thinking of getting the blanks and labeling them as well before I got into the HH buy, so I was checking them out. HPT says they have a recessed center of about .05mm so they would be good for labeling. The link to their review is here (I don't think we have a review on them yet, I was thinking of doing one). http://www.homepokertourney.com/revi...tm#Real%20Clay
You'll have to scroll down, they're about in the middle of the page. |

Chips: 501 | | | I use to own the chips on the bottom row and although they're a bit on the light side the chalky feel that Merlin mentions was better feeling than anything I've touched. They have quality control issues with some of the edge spots but these are some great inexpensive chips.
Let us know if you decide to label them |

Chips: 42 | | | well, if i get them, i'll certainly label them. i just didn't know if i should get the blanks, or try to get the labeled ones and re-label those. the labeled ones have a much wider labeling surface, but i think i'll try to label the blanks.
who could i go through to label these? cinos3? |

Chips: 20 | | | I would recommend lableing the blank ones. The larger graphic chips on the bottom are larger than most labels you can find and I am not sure how it would go if you placed your labels over the top of the existing labels. And I am sure that removing them wouldn't be any fun. I only have some samples of them, but I do like the chip. I went with the Neophytes from Buypokerchips for my tournament set. |

Also, just measured mine and the recessed area appears to be just under an inch wide so you might want to go with the 7/8" labels or you might have problems.
Oh, and I'd agree with Chooch, the labels do come off fairly easy with a fingernail but I don't think I'd want to deal with the hassle, especially since you can get them without the label. I don't think the "labeling surface" is any different between the blanks and the pre-labeled. |

who could i go through to label these? cinos3? | I have both sizes of these chips. The labels come off easily on either, and I believe the labeled chips are much cheaper than the blanks. If you are willing to do the work, these would be great for custom labels. Ebay has by far the best deals on these chips. |

Chips: 42 | | | Well! For spam purposes, I'm not going to divulge the site, but I'm getting a free set of chips from a very very wonderful affiliate. He's doing me a favor when it comes to sending me these chips, so I will be getting the following set:
"Vegas Blanks that are actually better than the Vegas Blanks we
usually sell. For some reason, we got a shipment that are actually the Vegas
Pros (with the alternating diamond and stipe side design) that just don't
have stickers on them."
So it looks like I'll be getting the best possible chip -- the wide inlay for a wider label, with what I consider to be better edge styling.
When I get the chips, I'll figure out the dimensions of the inlay and work on getting some custom labels. I'm hoping this is a cost-effective way to get some custom chips. |

Chips: 1,728 | | The Vegas Pro/Premium chips have a 1.25 inch label on them. You can get 1.2 inch labels from http://www.onlinelabels.com/ol6000.htm however all the white labels are paper based. The poly labels that might have better wear resistance are only available in clear. The label that is used on the chips is fairly thick, so applying adhesive labels really shouldn't be much of a problem. The smaller 1.2 inch label will give you a few thousandths of an inch of wiggle room in case you don't get the label perfectly centered, which causes increased thickness with the labeled chips coming in from China.
The chips themselves are actually pretty decent, albeit a little light (a little less than 8 grams, rather than the claimed 9 grams.) They have a nice sound (almost like a clay chip) and decent feel to them for a Chinese import, and notably absent is that metal slug. They fit well into the 2 3/4" chip racks, but won't usually fit 20 chips into the 2 11/16" racks. Quote: |
