My chip label concept- Bashing welcome

Hello, new to this forum. I've been very impressed of all the designs and suggestions from the members. Lots of creativity here and lots of good feedback on what works and what doesn't

Been playing with my new Paintshop software, learning it, and came up with several designs for my chips. This one is my "fantasy casino" choice. Not 100% sure about the font on top but it's growing on me. I thought about adding a little light soft focus behind the text for the darker photos if it will help it pop out more. I showed this pic to my poker regulars and they loved it.

Comments? Suggestions? Please bash away.

I can't decide if i like that font or not, either. I like it at first glance, but I think it might wear on my after awhile.

And, since I'm anal about symmetry, the wandering denominations bother me.

Great pics... almost nice enough that'd I say loose the text and just stay with denoms. Looks like you have more room at the bottom for text so I'd move "Crooked River..." there and drop Cleveland altogether as a pic's worth a 1000 words right... seems redundant and besides you & you're buddies will know where they are

The only problem I have with the font is... fonts that have a slanted look or are italicized just don't wrap well to me... I like the idea of using a "crooked" font but not one that leans in one direction. It's not bad but could be better IMO.

They look good. My only concern is they may be a little too busy when actually printed at the proper size.

Fins, you're right. I know exactly where I am. And that font looked better withOUT the wrap but placing it somewhere over the pic presented a challenge I could not overcome. I'll try CRC on the bottom. That font might look better with the top of the letters converging to the center rather than the bottom or maybe something simple like Arial or BankGothic might be better... I don't have a great font package so I've been scouring the web for freebies.

Phat, As for the denom I placed it where I thought it wouldn't be blocking the more interesting details of the pics but I think I can move it over to keep it consistant.

Thanks for the FB.

OK. Took these suggestions to heart. Here's 2 modded versions I came up with. I didn't like how the CRC looked when wrapped on the bottom with this font so I took out the contour. Looks better. Chips without any text I could bump up the size of the denom though I think it looks a bit lonely without some other text. Wadda ya think?

These new ones look much better. I actually prefer the ones with just the denominations. I don't think they look too loney. Besides which, those pictures are gorgeous, the less on the chip to detract from the pictures, the better.

Looks better... might do some mock ups as I'd almost be for using the same color denoms on all chips. Had another thought... might use the smallest text you can get away with and wrap the casino name in the wrap below and use the same size denoms across the board (or get them closer in size)...

would have to shring the pics down a little bit (maybe too much?) but it migt not be as distracting... trade off I guess. just a thought.

Hmmm Thanks Fins. I think I may use a part of your idea. The border around the whole chip may be too much but framing the denom with the chip color might be the way to go. I see in some other designs people are spelling out the denoms. Keeping the denom low profile on the bottom edge and the pic becomes more open.

I am working on a second label mockup that could be a fantasy logo that I could use on the opposite side of the chip.

Appreciate all the FB.

I really like your last sample. The spelled-out denom is a good look. However, I would lose the dollar signs. I have never liked them on a home game chip. If you are a real casino where a $100 chip is actually worth $100, that's one thing. But for a home set, I don't see the point.

Also, I would like to see either a) all night photos or b) all day photos. Just to be consistent. Personally, I really like the night-time shots.
