Chips: 81 | | | chip denoms for labels I have a set of NEXGEN 8000's that I am going to label. I have all seven colors. I can't decide between the following two denomination structures. I'm leaning toward option #2, but I'm having trouble with the blind structure. If you have a preference that has worked for you, what blind structure do you use?
OPTION #1
White/Rose - 5
Red/Purple - 10
Blue/White - 50
Green/Light Blue - 100
Black/Lime - 500
Yellow/Grey - 1,000
Purple/Teal - 5,000
OPTION #2
White/Rose - 10
Red/Purple - 25
Blue/White - 100
Green/Light Blue - 250
Black/Lime - 1,000
Yellow/Grey - 2,500
Purple/Teal - 10,000 |

Purple/Teal - 10,000 | In one of the many recent 'what/how many should I buy' threads someone made a good point about how useful a non-demoniation chip can be. I'd take out the 10 & 50 chips in #1, make one of them 25 and keep the other one as a non-denomination that you can fill in (most likely as a smaller or larger value depending on the game setup). |

Chips: 4,240 | | | I'd scrap all the lower denoms and start with 25. If you take whatever colour you have the most of and make it your 25, it can be your lowest denom for tournaments and worth $0.25 for a cash game set. Then your 100 could be used as $1.00 for cash games, and so on for the rest of your denoms.
I just find that anything smaller than a 25 chip is a bit of a waste for tournaments; the 5 or 10 chips are out of play so quickly as soon as you reach the 3rd blind level but a 25 chip can be used for the whole game and is a lot more manageable.

Chips: 934 | | | I guess another consideration is how many of each color you have. Splitting into a tourney set and a cash set is a cool idea, but if the quantities aren't right, it might not be feasible.
So how many of each do you have? |

This is exaclty what I would have suggested... those choices you have would really limit your set! |

5/10
10/20
15/30
20/40
25/50
50/100
75/150
100/200
150/300
etc, etc, etc.....
Then you can keep the 5's in 4 levels, or really slow it down and add in a 30/60, 35/70, 40/80 then you could use them even longer.
Just some added thoughts here worth close to 2 bits.... |

Just some added thoughts here worth close to 2 bits.... | OK, so now the 10 chips is good to the 4th blind level...my main point was that they become useless quick compared with a 25 chip as your lowest denom. For our T1000 we use the following:
25/25
25/50
50/100
75/150
100/200
150/300
200/400
250/500
500/1000
500/1500
1000/2000
1500/3000
etc...
I guess I just find that colouring up chips slows things down and take up time; I would rather start with a 25 as the lowest chip since it is very easy to count out 300 in 25's and in the end you have some big stacks being pushed in. For this reason, the 25's are my most common and most used denomination, and I have loads of them since in cash games you usually need a ton of them anyway.
