Chips: 122 | | | 400 - 500 - Grrr cant edit polls... I have read read and researched so please make this easy for me..
I am relocating to a sail boat and the seven seas in a few years so a 1000 chip count is out.
Usually have 4-6 sometimes 6-10 man tourneys, nl, no rebuy, single payout..
It was to early to post ... |

Now, I know I went to Pitt, but that sure looks like 500 to me, not 400. |

Chips: 113 | | | I'd go with 500, your not talking a big difference in space, so why not leave the extra hundred in case you're bored and start changing up how you structure your games.

Chips: 5,815 | | | I voted for the 400/500 (200-200-50-50) but would probably prefer a 200-200-75-25.
I find it odd that the leading vote getter has 5 colors. For 10 folks, 3 colors should be sufficient w/o rebuys and maybe a 4th for rebuys (which they don't play). |

Chips: 99 | | | I would also go with the 400/500-200, 200, 50, 50 set. |

Chips: 1,071 | | | Re: 400 - 500 - Grrr cant edit polls... With limited space and weight being a concern, I would go with less chips. 200 will get enough to accomodate what you describe, 300 will give some more options.
For a small tourney 80 green 100 black and 20 purple will accomodate up to 10 people 8 green (25), 8 black (100) and 2 purple (500) will give everyone 2000 in chips. I have run a lot of tournaments with this hand out and it works great. People will occasionally run out of green $25 but the designated dealer will just get them change from the pot. If you want a tourney to last longer either make the blinds progression slow or up the chips by adding a few more purple (500) and some 1000 chips (yellow in my game). You will not need that many - 50 purple and 25 yellow is 50K in chips for a T5000. SOme people like to give a lot of chips to start with and I have in the past - but I find it more of a pain and you especially are limited in space and weight too (I am assuming). |
