Chips: 1 | | | Is this Paulson Crystal Park deal sound fair? I am getting a set of Paulson Crystal Park chips...
$1 Count = 250 Condition Good - These show some casino play, but still good condition.
$5 Count = 200 Condition Good - I've cleaned 50 chips to look new. The rest show some casino play, but still good condition.
$25 Count = 50 Condition Excellent - Show very little casino play
$1000 plus shipping.
Do you think this is a good price for a set like this? Am I paying too much? I see plenty of the CP $1's and $5's on ebay...but large amounts of the $25's seems a bit more rare.
I figure all I need is a few $100 chips and this will be perfect for NLHE homegames.
I appreciate any comments. |

Chips: 684 | | | $1000 for a set of 500 chips seems steep, considering you can get fantasy Paulsons for around a buck per chip. But if you're heart is set on those particular chips, I think that's a good deal, considering how much I've seen the Crystal Park chips go for on eBay. Is the chip breakdown in that set going to work for your games?
(BTW, I don't know about anyone else, but I dig those Crystal Park $5 bumblebees.) |

(BTW, I don't know about anyone else, but I dig those Crystal Park $5 bumblebees.) | Yea, I figure I can have 10 players with blinds starting at $1/$2, get $200 in chips to start. ($1x15, $5x12, and $25x5) Then if I add a few $100's I'll be able to color up the $1's and some $5's.
I have a set of the Bumblebees at home and they are my favorite to riff through. The sound is unique, even compared to origional Vineyards. I'm still looking at other sets, but this one is just in my price range and about what I'm looking for. |

Chips: 29,466 | | | I don't know what kind of homegames you want to support (cash vs. tourney, cash stakes), but this set seems quite playable:
For tournies, for example, you could have 10 players:
T100 (blinds start at 1/1)
20 $1
16 $5
Then, you'd still have enough extra $5 to colorup the $1's, and plenty of $25 for rebuys. Or you could do t200 without rebuys.
You can easily support cash games of $100 to $200 buy-in (or $10 to $20 if you use $1 = $.10)

Chips: 111 | | | From what I have seen on Ebay re CP prices, that seems to be a good price for the set. Personally, I would buy something else even tho I like the CP's. |

So I think this will work. I'm used to the lowest denom being a $5....so going to a $1 will be a bit different.
I'm also looking at another Chiptalk.net member's sets of Bud Jones chips too. Haven't seen any pictures yet or prices.
I know I could in on the a group buy and get something for a lot less...but I have a sample the the CPs and love them. I almost just assume to not risk getting disappointed. | | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
