feel like plastic: I thoughtthe same thing when I first got them. recently got to see the inside of a busted one and it's the same material that one of my busted round Chipcos are. Must be the size that makes it sound different.

Try shaving a piece off the edge with a sharp knife. That should tell you whether they are plastic or ceramic. I've got one and it definitely sounds ceramic to me. Feels too dense to be a plastic and I can't imagine why chipco would make them on a different material from the rest of the chips in the set.
