I just got my samples from HoldemPokerChips.com and these are very nice chips. The colors are nice and bold and the spots look good. The chips look much better than they do on the site. The quality is pretty good on the chips I got. There are a couple slightly misaligned labels and some flecks of different chip colors embedded in a couple chips (my ASM's have this problem also) but overall the look great.

I also got a sample set (120 chips -- 10 of each style -- isn't playable, so it must be a sample set, no?) and agree with your initial assessment.
I too noticed a few small flecks of a different color in the body of some of the chips. Unremarkable, IMO. Haven't noticed any misaligned labels, but I haven't examined them too closely. Let's just say that if there are any misaligned labels, they're not misaligned enough to notice with a casual look-over.
They looked good when they arrived, but the colors really popped after I oiled them.
Overall, the quality and feel are terrific. I found nothing wrong with the chips that would deter me from buying more in the future.
Of course, the service from Michael at HPC was outstanding.
so they already have the 1000, 5000 and 25000 new chips?

Got my samples of the three new chips. Very nice looking. The chocolate one needs some oil to bring out the color I think.
