I've been searching for samples and found that it can be a pita to find shops that sell per chip and don't charge out the rear for shipping. Here are the best places I could find to order from. If anyone else knows of a better place to get samples, please post it here and I'll update the main post.

I tried to find shops that sell as many of the chips I was looking for to avoid having to pay shipping costs multiple times. I couldn't find a shop that has a good selection of both Paulson and Chipco w/o terrible shipping costs, so if anyone knows of one, please post it.

I'm not including chip costs since a difference of .20-30 on a dozen chips isn't that much of a difference. Shipping totals are for 20 chips.

This ebay store sells a sample set of 7 for .99 with shipping of a couple dollars. I ended up buying from Okumart, which had a better price on chips at the time. Both sellers were fine to deal with and had fast shipping

They have a good variety of chips and you can order individual copies of whatever styles/denominations you are interested in.

I am not sure how their shipping compares to others, but I have placed several orders and have never found it to be disproportionately high for what I had purchased.

It's probably because you're dealing with web/retail merchants who are in the business of reselling chips.

If you contact the US manufacturers of chips (ASM, Chipco, TR King, and probably Blue Chip) they'll usually send you samples without charge if you have specific items in mind (TR King does charge for a sample pack of the various designs that they currently have in stock.)

They do have a good selection, but I found that their shipping costs for a handfull of chips were higher than average. There are better places to go if you just want samples. Chipracks is another story, their's are about $1 each.

Yeah, I was in the market for cheap chips so I was dealing primarily with retailers.

On 5star, for the paulson samples- they sell the sample pack for $9.99

But if you just buy 7 of the indvidual chips, it only comes out to $9.45

Discount Casino Gear has sample packs of Paulsons for $6.95; however, it doesn't specifically delineate which chips are included for that price. I would hope it would be one of each denomination, but it does not specify.

Tom Demay of discountcasinogear has posted before that orders for Trademark products are drop shipped directly from Trademark. So in all likelihood you're getting the Trademark sample pack which would be one chip of each denomination. But like Trademark, if you order one chip of each denomination individually the total cost before shipping is minimally less than that of the sample pack (about 30¢ in this case).
