Chips: 6 | | | Real Casino Chips for Home Use? Does anyone use real casino chips for home use?
I guess it would work for small games and small stakes but it would still be expensive.
The trade off for the cost would be that you could always get your cash back. |

Chips: 111 | | | Just use $1 or lesser amount chips, it would be cheaper than buying good chips and if from an established casino, like you said, you could always cash them in for cash.
An idea would be to get $1 from different casino and then you put a value for each casino.
Mirage chips = $1
MGM = $5
and so on. |

Chips: 18,645 | | | Are you sure you want to go there? Be careful or you might become a crazed chip geek like the rest of us lurking these boards, spending all our cash (or credit) on ever-increasing collections of chips.
Yeah, lots of people use real casino chips for their home games. Some use retired chips or closed casinos, some use active chips in lower denominations, like suggested above. Also lots of real casino-quality chips made for "fantasy" casinos. If you get into eBay or elsewhere, you can see lots of good chips at various prices -- various meaning expensive to out-of-the-frickin-universe.
Thanks for joining and welcome to the (chip) freak show. |

Chips: 14,010 | | | Some people (like Tomb1) are even nice enough to indulge others on this board with a request to buy them some cool chips at their local casinos!
Thanks again Tom, they are cleaning up real nice!

Thanks again Tom, they are cleaning up real nice! | Yeah, to all -- I'm close to some nice $1 & $2.50 (or higher, of course) chips, and I can always use an excuse to go to the casino. Anybody want some chips, I'll be glad to help out with only a slight fee for Chiptalk-ers. |

Chips: 6 | | | Since I am close to Atlantic City I will walk in and try buy some small denominations and see what happens.
I see some other posts on doing this in the Casino and Collectible Chips section.
Any advice on this will be appreciated, especially in the poker room areas.[/b] |

Chips: 18,645 | | | Yeah, you'll usually have lots more luck in the poker room than at the cage or on the blackjack floor. Buy a rack of chips and carry the whole thing out -- chips and a free Paulson rack.
(If you feel uncomfortable, you might want to bring in a little plastic shopping bag folded up in your pocket, then put the rack of chips in the bag as you're walking out...) |

Chips: 1,555 | | My home poker game has small stakes and we frequently use real $1 casino chips for our $1 chips. I recently picked up a handful of $1 Mardi Gras chips from the Mardi Gras casino in Black Hawk. A nice simple design that looks good on the table. |

Chips: 18,645 | | | Isn't it crazy when we (well, at least me) pick out our casinos to visit by the selection of chips they use!?! Is that lame or what... | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
