Chips: 14,836 | | | Yeah, scroll up about 1/2 way and you'll see the GIANT yellow chip.
Since you're going with the non-standard colors, I think you'd need denoms so you don't have the constant 'how much is this one?' during the game.

Chips: 53 | | | Yeah, high denom is fun, but I would see myself using it most for my cash games at home... so maybe:
Non-denom-Green
$.25-Pink
$1-Orange
$5-Light Blue (maybe? any other suggestions)
$100-Gray
$500-Yellow
$1000-Purple
$5000- Black (another one thats subject to substitution)
I'm thinking it would give the best of both worlds... a tourney set, and a cash game set. Colors can change around, but $.25 through $5 and a non denom seems cash game appropriate, and $100-$5000 would work well, with a non-denom for a $10000 maybe? |

Chips: 53 | | | Also, any ideas on a candidate to run this for us? I might be able to do it, but I'm not sure I have the time/experience to run it. Not to mention, people would trust a veteran forum member more... |

Chips: 810 | | | it seems like your doing alot of chips so i figure you should add a 25 or 50. so then the tourney setup could be 25or50,100,500,1k
and cash .25,1,5,25 |

Chips: 53 | | | That is what the non-denom is for... it can be the $25 in a cash game, or the $50 or $10,000 in a tournament. |

Chips: 275 | | | There are plenty of decent cash game sets out there. I say it has to be tournament, and probably non-denom. Otherwise, with non-traditional colors you'll never get an agreement on the union of colors and denoms (for instance, I can't see not having pink in a bright colored, solid edge set...but I have no use for a 25cent chip). After all, the inspiration for a set like this (IMO) has to be the tournament sets we've all seen on tv lately. At the very least make it tourney denoms: 5$ pinks, light green $25, grey $100, purple or light blue $500, yellow $1000. Come to think of it, that's just a brighter version of traditional colors. Eh? |

Eh? | So, what is the general consensus on this one? Denom or nondenom? I'm buying primarily for my home cash game, and I use $.25 and $1 chips a lot, so they are pretty much a must for me... but I could use a nondenom set, and it would suit us all. |

Chips: 53 | | | I just thought of something... there are two shades of pink so what about something like this?
Nondenom- Green
$.25-Pink Shade #1
$1-Orange
$5-Light Blue (maybe? any other suggestions)
$25- Pink Shade #2
$100-Gray
$500-Yellow
$1000-Purple
$5000- Black (another one thats subject to substitution) |

Chips: 88 | | | yeah i like that chip breakdown, but i would definately like something different than black for a 5000 chip, maybe another shade of one of the lower colored denoms? | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
