ceramics or clay?

I never played with ceramic or clay chips before, but from the topics here, most of you like clay. Can you explain why do most of you like clay?

I like them both, but like my ceramics a little more at the moment. Mainly because they are a bit heavier than my clays and for me it's easier to do tricks with them. They have a good feel and sound as well. The ceramics feel broken in right out of the box. Just my $.02 worth.

I like em both really. Each has their pluses, and minuses. I think clays sound better, and some of those chipcos are sweet looking. If I were rich I would buy millions of both and roll around in them.

I like them both as well but I tend to lean more towards the ceramics because I am a graphics man and I love to come up with new artwork for them and as someone stated earlier in this thread I think it is a little easier to do chip tricks with them all depends on what you like and what your preference is and how much you are willing to spend on your chips..

If you're shopping for the best chips, here are my thoughts. Your mileage may vary. More info coming soon.

1. Always get samples. You'll know what you like when you feel them. If you're buying expensive chips, spend a few bucks before making a big purchase.

2. Ceramics:
Pro: - killer graphics
- silky feel
- especially good for custom graphics
- consistent quality
Con: - won't stack as high
- "clinky" sound
- graphics wear down with heavy use

3. Clay:
Pro: - most traditional real casino chip
- feel good -- stick together well and stack real high
- molded faces and edge spots give a classy look
Con: - fewer customization options
- real Paulsons are very expensive
- quality can vary between manufacturers

I to liked both kinds, the only thing i don`t care for in the ceramics is that the graphics can get overwhelming with too much context which can take away from the appearance of the chip, sort of like a women wearing too much makeup, just chippens the overall look IMHO.

I heard there is a website that did a durability test on some chips by hammering the chip while it's in a vice. has anyone heard of a such website? if you have please post the link.
