Chips from theplayasclub.com

Has anyone ever handled the Oberon or Razor's Luck style chips from here? I have a B-Day comin up and was thinking a set of 1000 of these would do me just fine. I like the fact that they are heavy too. The graphics look great, the case is nice(not really a case but you get it), etc. BTW, nice forums, great idea, and something that I wish I had before I bought my first set.

i find it hard to believe that these chips would sound anything BUT metal.
and 15grams is insane. you will end up with injured forearms after an hour of play.

Hahaha

I am really not interested in the sound. I am not sure why people get all worked up about the metal clink, although that could be because I have never played with real clay chips. I just wanted to find a new set with a cool, bright look, and I thought the extra weight would be nice. It probably helps the stacking height and probably deadens the sound a bit from my 11.5 gram chips.

$250? For that money you can get 500 custom colored chips from pokerchips.com. Real clay chips with a real weight. 15g? Yikes. 11.5 grams is too heavy as it is.

I'd recommend getting some Paulson, pokerchips.com (ASM) and TRKing samples and see what you think of them compared to your current chips.

Hahaha

The only problem is that pokerchips.com takes forever. Also, I got their chips, and call me a freak, but I thought they were too light. Also, they sent me only a couple and I couldn't check how the shuffle, but it really bothered me that the chips marked each other so easy. I was making marks on an olive brown chip with a blue one and vice versa, and it was happening a little too much for my liking with minimal moving around. I dunno, I will surely check them out again. Don't Paulson's require an outrageous amount bought to get them?

for a good inexpensive chip i would get these:

http://thepokerchipcompany.com/html/...tyle_1003.html

they LOOK like the traditional dice chips, but these have no insert, sound and feel great (no plasticky feel):

http://thepokerchipcompany.com/html/accolade.html

price quality ratio is key.
they are in stock and you can get the stamped too.

I am looking for something a little less traditional. I have the dice chips right now, and don't really want something that looks like it again...hehehe....

If your looking to spend $200-250, get a set of NJ Desert Sands or Deadmans. I have a 500pc Desert Sands set I got from Ebay for $226 delivered. Was actually cheaper than NJ's 3 for 2 deal.
