I'm BACK - Now YOU have to catch me up (with PRON)

It's been nearly 2-2.5 years since I've been on this site much. Many of you will remember ontheuptick, as I was pretty active back then. I've owned Old Orchard (Customs), Bakes Underground (Customs), PNY's, Ritz, Vineyard, Grand Casino, Bahamia, Outpost, Grand Cardroom BCC, Paulson FLV, tons of Cherries, Starburst, Paulson LeCoves, Matsuis, lots of TRK's, Crystal Parks, and Bud Jones Dorado. I'm sure I've owned more, but those are from memory.

So, my question is, What's gone on here over the last couple of years? Can you share some pics? What sets have burst onto the scenes? I remember the talk of Custom Paulson's was just heating up when I left - do you have some pics?

I may be looking to dip my toes back in and buy some more chips in the not-to-distant future

I've included some PRON of my chips, which at the time were kind of ground breaking with new edgespot patterns and such from ASM. I played with them this last weekend and still love them.

Sir! You know I'm lazy, that'd take way to much time.

Just curious what's out there. A few pics is the least I can do.

BTW - still have a sample set of your classic ASM cash set - love em!

Love the orchards...still easily and arguably top 5 in my book of all the ASMs I've seen come through CT in my 7 years here.

As for catching you up, an easy way to start will be just to go through the Chiproom Forum threads from Jim...he's put out several tasty paulson, BJ and chipco sets in the past few years...not the least of which is the new Grand Victoria secondary rack...all mint chips from $1 to $1000....first set to boast that since the PNYers.

ASM sets have really blown up too with all the new spots and even new colors...my favorite being the bright white.

Spotted Hourglass with inlays are sooooo 2008. Yawn.

Just kidding. Very nice. Lots of interest in the hourglass mold lately - especially for hotstamping. They have such a nice recess.

Re: I'm BACK - Now YOU have to catch me up (with PRON)

off the top of my head, the most "wtf this is amazing" developments of the past two years:

- semi-custom paulson hotstamped solids and (set) edgespots on suits mold
- ASM making 814s
- ASM releasing new molds (E&C, smooth no-mold, MD-50, Diamond B)
- ASM releasing oversized inlays (1" on HHR, H, and E&C)
- ASM releasing new colors (maroon, canary yellow, bright white)
- SILKS getting banned
- 99% evil changed his username to Meddler
- PCA paulsons from the chiproom
- empress paulsons from the chiproom (too few mint available, but there were some)
- grand victoria paulsons from the chiproom
- matsui wsop GB

Re: I'm BACK - Now YOU have to catch me up (with PRON)

Let's see, off the top of my head:

1) ASM has opened up a ton of new options as far as spots go. Combining different spots to come up with completely new spots can be negotiated with JimB.

2) Some new colors from ASM , charcoal and butterscotch a couple of years ago? and then Canary Yellow and Maroon this year. Also, bright white can occasionally be used.

3) New molds! (Well, not new, but re-released molds.) Diamond Square (MD-50) , Elephant and Crown , Diamond B, Cards and Dice, No mold textured and No mold smooth. Roman mold has been shelved.

4) PCA chips (President Casino on the Admiral). Primary and Secondary chips (paulsons), from the Chiproom.

5) A bunch of WA state casinos from the Chiproom: Bremerton Lanes (paulsons) , Kenmore Lanes (paulson and ASM) , Players Club and Cafe International (ASM) , The Grove (Bud Jones CIC) , Hooters Renton (chipco) , Hooters South Park (chipco) , Skyway Park Bowl (paulson)

6) Empress Casino (primary and secondary) paulsons again, from the Chiproom.

7) The ones that probably brought you back, Grand Victoria primary and secondary paulsons from the Chiproom.

Paulson has a new 41mm chip lineup, and are a sponsor here.

9) There were two group buys for WSOP inspired chips , one Matsui, and one BCC

10) Palm Gaming is now doing compression molded chips on the scroll mold.

11) ABC gifts bought Nevada Jacks.

12) Nevada Jacks became Casablanca poker chips?

13) I can't think of anything else off the top of my head, but wanted a 13th item.

Mike
