Chips: 1,087 | | | All In Chips - Played with them and... They are great.
One of my poker buddies just got a huge set (+500) of All Ins and all I can say about them is: dont believe the hype. I hear everywhere they are not great and that they break easily (but who will try to do it with YOUR set?).
He has been using them for more than 6 months and they look great.
How they are:
- yes you can break them easily with your barehands but again: you should spank one who tries this with YOUR chip set
- All the design is crisp clear on the chip faces (lets say for 90% of them)
- On the side the small dots are not that crisp but fine enough
- There is a little ridge (chip freaks will notice) on the side of the chip (are they compressed or what?)
- On the internal recessed circle there is most of the time a blob of material that really looks like an injection mark (they dont unplease me but it´s there and any chip freak will notice it)
- I never liked its colors combinations but I ended up enjoying it by the end of the day
- No edge spot and that´s it
- No denoms
- Dont even think about sticking a label on those
Observations about the chips (with a decent weekly use):
- they get dirty from each other (but a finger can easily wipe this out)
- the whites are becoming eggshell yellow (an extremely lightly yellow tinted white)
- there are marks of nail presses, chips from fall falls and such like
- some corners of the chips got a little clearer due to use
In the end they are much better then from what I heard people saying. I am not sure about their price but it looks the perfect match for those who are looking for better quality and casino feel than Composites but are not willing to go with the +1.00 chips (or cheaper group buys).
Poker Chip Company´s clays - the best I have handled for regular games - are different. I appreciate the texturized feel of them but the rubbery thing on the All Ins is great.
I would recommend them any day for those who can wait and also for those who are not looking to afford zillions in chips.
By the way this is not a review just some notes I came up with from pratical experience. |

Chips: 1,555 | | | I used to be a big advocate of the All-in chips. I ordered some samples from them over 8 months ago and have been playing with them daily ever since (meaning shuffling them, fidgeting with them, etc).
After 8 months of constant handling here is what I've found...
They begin to stick together. The oils from your hand gather on them and make them less manipulative. I haven't tried cleaning them but then again I've never cleaned my regular chip set either for the last 20 years.
I've noticed a few nick marks along the edges. This was somewhat expected given that their material is soft but given the amount of wear that I've started seeing I don't think this set would last more than 3-5 years at most. Expect to be ordering lots of replacement chips after a few years. (Then again the difference in looks from old chips to new would be very noticable).
The colors are getting a soiled look. The white isn't yellowed but dulled somewhat from its original bright look.
So while they may look like nice chips initially, their long term wearability is somewhat in question. I'm glad I didn't buy a set - went with the NexGens instead and am very pleased with them. |

Chips: 1,087 | | | Ten,
I will make sure I get the review ready to you by friday.
At least a nice 1st draft.
Chipper,
'Stick Thing'
So far I have not felt the stick thing. I do a couple very easy chip tricks - with PCC ones regularly - that have come very well with the All Ins.
One thing I forgot to mention is that they have a softer edge and they feel better for tricks then the sharp ones from other chips.
'Lifetime'
This chips are played every saturday no matter if it rains or if it´s sunny. I´d say they have character now instead that they are wearing off.
'Colors'
When I meant eggshell I meant dull. The eggshell thing is something I learned some weeks ago with some friends.
Comparison to Nexgens
I have a 500 set of these - the 1st model - with custom labels and I love them. But the distance Nexgens are from All Ins is brutal and I dont even consider it to be a fair game. |

| If that was intended for me then no, I actually have an opinion about those chips and was just trying to contribute. I'm glad that someone does like them - was soooo close to buying those myself (despite the review on pokerchipreviews.com). |

Chips: 169 | | | I have samples of these and have been debating about them for awhile. I think they are very close, but man.. who the hell designed them?
of their eight chip colors, four of them have pink in them. I have twin daughters... I have enough pink in the house.
I have written two e-mails to them asking if they are going to update the looks of those chips, and have not gotten a reply.
If companies like all-in, "the poker chip company", or whoever makes nexgens, just made one post to a forum like this, I'm sure they could have a product that lookes a billion times better than what they are offering now.
Agan, for the price... I like the feel of them (yes, they are fragile), but i can't handle how they look. I'd rather go with the plain looking pc.com chips rather than the pink "ALL-IN" chips. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
