I just got a sample of the new JP Paulson's. I compared the weight of these to a Chipco Apache and a Paulson Fun Nite chip that a coworker got from one of the Atlantic City casinos. This Fun Nite chip was supposedly used as practice chips by the casino personnel in training. The Chipco and Fun Nite chips weighed approximately 10.3 grams while the JB was only 8.8 grams. Anyone else notice this? Does anyone care about the lower weight on this chip?
My 7 Paulson JB samples weigh a total of 66g- that's 9.4g each.
20 of my Discovery Cruises white giant inlay chips weigh 194g- that's 9.7g.
FWIW, my 2 ASM samples weigh 17g (8.5g each) and my 3 TR Kng samples weigh 29g (9.6g)
And, oddly enough, when I weighed 20 Green (7/8" inlay) Discovery chips, they totaled 182g- just 9.1g. Could it be the Dayglo green clay?
The red chips (7/8" inlay) are identical in weight to the white ones, so I know it has nothing to do with the inlay size.

There's no way the Paulson James Bond chips weigh 8.8 grams! Perhaps this is a typo, you meant 9.8? Or are you in possession of the Blue Chip ("flame" or "clamshell" mold) JBs, which pokerchipreviews says are 8.3 grams? pokerchipreviews says the Paulson JBs weigh 9.8-9.9 grams. And I just balanced a stack of 25 Paulson JBs against a stack of 25 faux clays (pokerchipreviews: 9.2-9.3 grams), and the JBs won.
I don't have the other 6 chips with me at work. I'll have to weigh them on Monday. It surprised me too. I was expecting them to be at least 10 grams if not 10.2 like the Fun Nite chip.
