Chips: 71 | | | Opinion on 9g Welcome to Las Vegas Chips My roomate is currently looking into 9g Las Vegas Poker Chips. I was wondering what the quality of these chips were because they are more expensive then other clay composite chips. Any information on these chips would be great http://www.pokerbargains.com/vegas-c...ker-chips.html

Chips: 196 | | | I had a set of these for a little while last year. They are pretty decent, buy you can get them for cheaper than that site...try ebay.
They are very light, which was my main issue with them. They are also very slippery when stacked, but not as bad as the dice chips. I would reccommend them if you can get 500 chip set for 60-80 dollars total. That is if this is what you are looking for. If you have handled a bud jones chip, think of it is a being a knock off of that, but nowhere near as good.
I know I, and many others, have said this often, but I HIGHLY suggest the 10 gram faux clay chips at 5stardeal. They truly are fantastic, and they are only 6 cents per chip. Check those out too!!

Chips: 70 | | | I got a set of these chips from ecasinodeals.com after completing one of their signups, no affiliation. Like the other poster said they are somewhat light and the inlay is pretty big so the chips feel kind of slick and don't stack too well. I also have some of the faux clay chips and would say that they would be the better choice if he is just looking for some basic chips and doesn't care about an inlay. |

Chips: 71 | | | Thanks for the quick replies guys
My roommate just got a set (fan of cards clay composite) a month ago from ebay and got burned pretty bad. The quality was terrible, and some of the chips didn't even have the sticker on it at all. He got no replies and is now stuck with them. I don't think he's ready to spend the big bucks for a a paulson set but anything in the 100-150 dollar range for a 500 piece set is fine. If you guys have any other suggestions it would be great. |

Chips: 121 | | | i have a set of 100 that i picked up at spencers gifts. mine are of the thicker stripe variety however, but i believe the two are identical.
they are pretty good for the price, cant complain. they are a little on the light side. one thing to note, is that, at least in the set i got, the 100s seemed to be made of a different material than the rest. i dont know if it is this way for the entire run, but definitely some kind of anomaly in mine.
also, i think there are some size issues. all of the denoms except the 1's fit into the rack fine. the 1's i have to literally jam the 25 of them in there to get them to fit. the others fit fine.
still not a bad deal if you can get them on the cheap. |

Chips: 1,214 | | | I have 1250 of these chips and use them for tourneys. I actually have a mixture of the "pro" clays and the regular ones - basically the large and small labels.
They are light. That said, I have not experienced the stacking problems others have suggested - I don't find these chips to be too slick - I can easily stack em 50-60 high with no probs.
So... go get some Nexgens and put labels on them. You will be happy. I have done that for my cash games and now want to get more for tourneys. Of course, now I want real clays.... The best advice I can give you is to save your money and get the chips you want, then you won't keep buying more, like everyone else who tried the cheap way out first... |

Chips: 196 | | | Yea they do stack good, but once they are stacked, it seems like it doesn't take much of a nudge to send the stack toppling over.
