2 'cheap' chips : Which is better? + hotstamping

I'm considering 'cheap' chips for tournaments. I've had a set of 'faux' clay chips and found them to be pretty good for the price FAUX CLAY. How are they compared to the Super Diamond SUPER DIAMOND. I've read in other posts that they are the same thing but with different designs.

Also how does hotstamping hold up to wear. I've played with some hotstamped suited chips but they were old (5-10 years?) and the hotstamping was coming off.

ive played with super diamonds, but havent played with the faux clays, by reading the reviews, it seems to me that the faux clays stack better, and shuffle better... ask someone who owns both though...

I have both faux and super diamonds. The faux clay are less slick and stack better. They are a little bit heavier and feel more like the Belliago chips I have. The super diamonds are better looking imo but feel and look a little more on the plastic side. I would go with the faux clay but the super diamonds are an acceptable alternative. Be sure the diamonds are 9 grams.

I've had sets of the super diamonds and the new faux clays... The faux clays definitely feel, stack, sound, and play more like clay than any other "cheap chip" that I've used. They're a GREAT value. I just wish they had a better design, but hey, for the money... In my opinion they're a MUCH better chip than the super diamonds.

... and I may be wrong, but I don't believe that you can have the faux clays hot stamped.

One more thing. They are NOT the same w/different design. Different feel and look.

P.S. Did Ten color up the bonus chips?

Beats the **** out of me...

I've never played with the faux clay either, but the diamonds weren't that bad. They were my main tournament set before being stolen and replaced with dice chips.
