Chips: 13,254 | | | Chip factories in Vegas? Chip stores? First question:
I have this vague recollection of watching part of a Travel Channel show (like "Hidden Secrets of Vegas" or whatever) within the last 12 months where they toured a casino chip factory in Vegas. They showed how chips are made for casinos, how they are warehoused, and focused the most on security. Huge pallettes of chips bound for casinos in Vegas worth thousands. Don't remember the company.
This forum would seem to be the best shot at getting an answer to this question -- Does anyone know if the general public can visit/tour such a place? I'm thinking that you might also be able to pick up samples on the cheap, like the chocolate gift shop at the end of the chocolate factory tour.
Second question:
Are there any stores in Vegas the specialize in, or at least have a good collection of, vintage Vegas casino chips for sale? I remember seeing some older chips in a store inside the Aladdin, and I'm guessing that there must be someplace in Vegas that has more than a handful of vintage chips. |

Chips: 2,043 | | | i have also watched this show. it is the Paulson warehouse. there is no Paulson factory in Vegas, the chips are made in Mexico. the show was touting this as a secret location, yet they clearly showed the outside building and some surrounding areas. i bet i could find it easily if i tried.
the show said that they put the denoms and labels once the chips are in Vegas. closest thing ive seen to a chip factory tour. i just wish they had something like the Food Network where they go into the factory and show/explain the whole process. |

Chips: 13,254 | | | Travel Channel show This sounds right. It was a while back, and may have just been the warehouse in Vegas. I'm fairly sure it was the "Secrets of Vegas" or close to that.
No one knows of a store in Vegas that sells/specializes in chips? |

Chips: 2,043 | | | i think it was called something like "Vegas: Follow the Money"or something like that and it was on the Travel channel . btw, Paulson uses Brinks armored trucks to transport the chips from the warehouse to the casino. they also showed the new RDIF chips with the micro chip in them.
edit: my mistake, the show that showed the RDIF chips was called "Vegas: Whats new for 2005". |

I'll bet somebody has guns around that place, in addition to armored cars, so I'd be a little bit careful trying to find them and just "visit." Would be fun, though! |

On a related note (and at the risk of hijacking my own thread...), Spinetti's sells the Paulson James Bond chips for 99 cents each. Is this the cheapest price available for the PJB? Everyplace else is about 15-20% more. I've ordered samples from there, and might go with those pending a review of some other chips (or maybe the Pharaoh chips). | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
