...How did you aquire such a collection of the Crystal Park's?
He mentioned that they were obtained before the big poker boom (obviously after those particular chips became availabe to the public). I'd like to know what the initial investment was back then. Perhaps $0.25 to $0.50 per chip?
I bought my 1st set of Paulsons back in around 2000. Here are most of my 43MM chips. I am not even going to get into how many 39mm Paulson chips I have.
Once you get a hold of the 43MM chips, it is almost impossible to part with them. You know that you can never replace them. Once you sell them they are gone forever. All you can get are 39mm chips for the home market. I have seen these chips go for quite a bit on eBay over the years. I was lucky I found them well before the poker boom.
Wow. Thanks for sharing that pic. It was a good fix. Please give me another hit with your 39mms
I realize this is a really old thread, but it's still relevant. As a matter of fact, I find myself at a crossroads: I am on the verge of ordering my 1st set of custom chips. As I see it, I still have a chance to resist the temptation and the inevitable control it will have over me. Put yourselves in my shoes: given the opportunity to go back in time to your crossroads, would you make that initial purchase again, with the benefit of hindsight? Knowing the control that it would hold over you? Would you relegate yourself to a life of slavery to the chip makers? Buying every offering they mercilessly offer? Or would you walk away?

I'm sure I know the answer.
Run away while you can.
I laughed at all these guys for over a year because I was happy with my faux clays and saving a fortune.
Now I have thousands invested in my cash game set alone.
You will take the turn and not even see it comming.
