Re: Proteges - Anyone have anything bad to say?

I was wondering why they looked so beat up. So that begs the question, WHY did you put chips in the dishwasher??

btw, did a search for 'ghost mold' and that old thread popped right up.

I had those for years before I ever saw anyone else talk about it.

And to put the pic in context: these chips were left in a dish washer at high-temp wash.
They looked normal at 1st , but the ghost molds came to the surface from the damage.
That is why they look kind-of beat up.

Re: Proteges - Anyone have anything bad to say?

For those who asked for the breakdown I got 500 chips for use as a $0.25/$0.50 or $0.50/$1 home game or a SnG set.

200 - $0.25
150 -$1
100 - $5
50 - $25

Not sure whether that's "good" or "bad", but I ran some scenarios to see how many chips I'd need and this seemed to work for me.

Thanks again for all the help!

Yeah, they're more like a rental. Buy them for one price, sell them for 10-50% less, and there's your rental fee. Unless you keep them until you die, because then they are a sunk cost when one of your heirs sells them for $25 on craigslist.
