Re: King's Casino Clay Chips - 14 gram.

Howdy and welcome. As you can tell we are all pretty much chip snobs. I really like the inlay of the "Kings Casino" that you posted. In fact I had a set that I thought was made by RT Plastics about 10 years ago, but I am not sure. I know the inlay was the same as what you show but the chips were totally different. I have seen some similar set since then with a yellow $1 chips but my $1 was white.

Anyway, the inlay is cool by me but the chips and edgespots are Fugly.

For a much nicer looking chip with the same characteristics you are looking for I think you should go with these:

They are on ebay right now and are basically Matsui knock off's. I haven't handled any of these but I have thought about pulling the trigger on a travel set but never followed thru. I like the gold foil around the inlay and the edgespots are pretty cool too! These are not Ceramic like Chipco's, but they are not clay composite like Paulson either. They are a hard plastic, more along the lines of Bud Jones.

They are on eBay too. 1500 would run you about $225ish. eBay Linky

Good luck and I hope you stick around chiptalk after your purchase. Write a review once you get them!

Take Care,

- Couga

Re: King's Casino Clay Chips - 14 gram.

Too bad those Monte Carlo chips Couga posted are 13g. I would certainly consider a set if they were around 9-10g. They would make a great "beater" tournament set.

Re: King's Casino Clay Chips - 14 gram.

I have handled these Tom and they don't handle well. They're extremely slick and topple over easily when stacked. I agree that they're cool looking though.

Question Re: King's Casino Clay Chips - 14 gram.

Ok, so far we have had mixed thoughts about the " King's Casino Clay Chips - 14 gram. " Most people here seem to think there are better options around. The Monte Carlo's were an option but it seems that their stacking ability is suspect ???
At the end of the day, I seem no closer to purchasing a set of Tournament Chips & getting very confused in the process

I have considered the " Dunes Commemorative Pure Clay Chips " series but I have a feeling they are too light ?

Can anyone else make a suggestion...please post links etc & refer to my earlier post for exact requirements.

Thanks Everyone,
MLOR.

Re: King's Casino Clay Chips - 14 gram.

Can't really help you with the chips, but I will say that you probably won't be needing the T50s for your breakdown.

Re: King's Casino Clay Chips - 14 gram.

Agreed. The 50 denomination probably isn't very chip "efficient."

Would two 25's suffice for a 50 in your tournies?

Re: King's Casino Clay Chips - 14 gram.

Couga,
The chip you had before might have been these:

vs these:

I had searched about six months ago (multiple sites) but could not find a review on the new style. I took the plunge and got a set. Yeah they are a little soft (tore one up) and heavy (I knew that going in) howeva I have no complaints with them. But I'm not as chip worldly like you guys (no dig intended).

Re: King's Casino Clay Chips - 14 gram.

i suggest to spend a little more money, as long as that gets you a better chip. once you get the chips, you will be happier with the product, even if the price was a little higher. every time i've bought cheap chips in the past, i've been disappointed.

Red face Re: King's Casino Clay Chips - 14 gram.

I bought these 14 gramers when i was a wee bit chipster...had a chiptalker design the lables. At the time they were fantastic but i grew up a bit....they stack well, sound ok, were relativley inexpensive....I think you can still find them.

Re: King's Casino Clay Chips - 14 gram.

14 grams? way too heavy. true official casino weights are 8-10 grams.
