Nevada Jacks clay chip news

So I heard a rumor about production ending on these chips, so I called up Kim at NJ. It's true

. These chips are no longer being produced. Apparently this goes back to a large equipment purchase the company made awhile back. They're going to be entering into the custom clay business, making customs on the NJ mold, rather than having BCC manufacture NJs clays. Should be a great variety of color and edge spot choices. At least that's my understanding from my conversation with Kim. Many logistical items need to be worked out before this goes live. Keep an eye on their website for more details as they become available.

So sad though. These are one of my favorite clays, even with the well known issues...

imagine custom clays from a company that has a pro-customer work ethic i think. 2 week turnarounds etc for chips. never bought from them but they seem to have good reviews for customer service. Perhaps there would be a company finally that won't make people wait 6 months- 1 yr for chips.

Well, the whole nature of compression molded clays is a time consuming manufacturing process, but it is always good to get another competitor. I have had very good experiences with Nevada Jacks and look forward to seeing their offerings.

I doubt they'd be able to turn custom orders around in 2 weeks. I'd love to be wrong....
