Re: Great Packaging From TheChipRoom

Possibly too much of an air gap above the top layer - allowing subsequent movement and damage to the polystyrene foam tray???

Any obvious damage Links?

Re: Great Packaging From TheChipRoom

Ask Jim, he's a stand-up guy. Always had great packaging from him. I suspect the box was opened somewhere, or broke open. The postal employees wouldn't care about repackaging properly, (except this one)

Re: Great Packaging From TheChipRoom

Actually my Tukwila's came looking like that. The styrofoam trays all busted loose and the box was like a giant baby rattle.

Re: Great Packaging From TheChipRoom

My Tukwila's came packed nicely in the styrofoam containers. An inpection or transit damage seems likely.

Strange, usually thechiprooms service is top notch.
I don't believe Jim packed them like that. Every time I got mail from him, the chips were well packed.

Must have been some accident of sorts.

Re: Great Packaging From TheChipRoom

I am very sorry to here of the damage during shipping. We pride ourselves on the great care we take in packaging and shipping our chips. We have researched 100s of ways of packing chips. The method that we currently employ for used chips is to pack the chips in styrofoam sleves and either tape in cardboard or bubble wrapped and pack tightly in a box. This is the only instance, to my knowledge, that this packaging method has failed during shipping. Believe me, we DO NOT just throw our chips in a box. I regret that this was posted on here as it clearly is an exception and not the norm. If there were any chips damaged during shipping, we will gladly replace them at no cost. I believe that others who have purchased from The Chip Room in the past, can attest to our packaging standards.

Yeah ummmm. I had a couple of racks of $100's that were completely destroyed. Can you send me some replacements?

- Couga

Just kidding everyone. Those hundo's are so cool I had to try. Everything I have every received from Jim has been packaged top notch.

IIRC on my package the styrofoam packaging only about 1/2 filled the box, so everything moved around until the styrofoam was completely smashed. I like to save handy packaging for reshipment but there wasn't anything salvageable of the styro trays. It wasn't an issue for me so I never mentioned it before.
