I'm aware of a few cases involving the postal service in which there were documented larceny cases. Some large scale thefts that included firearms.
I'm also aware of some fine work that was done by the Postal Inspectors. Top notch people that took their jobs seriously and did it well.
I guess what I'm trying to say is that not every postal worker is incompetent or a thief.
I don't believe these chips were somehow stolen from a postal worker. I'm not saying it couldn't happen but I'm not convinced they were shipped, yet. *not ranting against ipgyst, it's just that his thread was the last one about the postal workers.

But I think you'll find that everybody here has had at least one mystery-disappearing-item-in-the-USPS-mail in the last 10-15 years. If painting the USPS with that brush makes it seem like I'm accusing everybody in the USPS of skullduggery and corruption, then so be it, but that's not my intent and everybody knows it. On the positive side for the USPS, I've never had one problem when I've insured an item, and my overseas shipping always goes swell. It appears that if you have a paper trail, the postal employees with a predilection for thievery leave your packages alone. Perhaps that's why I have a 100% success rate with UPS, DHL, and FedEX - I swear they scan those packages every 100 miles. |

Maybe I'm one of the lucky few (knock on wood).
I've had my mail stolen but it wasn't a postal worker. That's a story for another day but she got 15 years.

It was september 2007 and nobody claimed it for 3 months. By Christmas he decided to open it and now he has a nice plasma in his living room. |

Chips: 511 | | | Re: ATTENTION: NEVER buy from this Ebayer/Chiptalker Well, silly me, I sent our friend an eBay private message telling him I wanted to buy some of his chips but didn't feel comfortable about it because of what was happening here at C.T. and I was worried that I would get an envelope full of rocks or air. The reply: "well you won't have to worry about that because you are blocked forever"
Dang! All I did was ask a question! |

Chips: 51 | | | Re: ATTENTION: NEVER buy from this Ebayer/Chiptalker I'm soooo pissed at the attitude this guy has taken throughout this whole process. The "screw you it's not my fault" stance simply doesn't fly with me. The fact that he has not made any attempt to remedy 5 incidents of shady dealings by the supposed "post office" absolutely floors me. I am by no means a violent person but...get a few too many PBRs in me and put me in front of this dude and there's bound to be some sort of misunderstanding.
If he did this to me, I'd drive up to Michigan, perform the misunderstanding, THEN make him pay for my gasoline and tip me for my time. I'm just saying...it's called the "tough ****" rule. You knowingly take money from people and don't deliver the goods...big guys named Vinnie come and pay you a visit. I don't condone that type of behavior but I've seen it done and I know of people that do that. Scary stuff. |

Chips: 437 | | | Re: ATTENTION: NEVER buy from this Ebayer/Chiptalker I work for the US Postal Service and yes, mail theft within our system, by employees, is possible, BUT very unlikely. You are talking about throwing away a 50000 salary job with great benefits, away, for the contents of a package. As the sender I would definitely be talking to my local postmaster about the problem. I would love to see the scans of the envelopes please. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
