PH or MGM?

I think* I have narrowed it down to 2 chips, MGM or Planet Hollywood.

MGM's are obviously popular and great chips. Planet Hollywoods look awesome and I think they are more versitile because then I could get a blue 25c chip (like the quarters from Blue Chip Casino) or brown and they would match great. I would love some MGM quarters, but they seem to be VERY expensive, so I'd like to see everyone elses opinion on which would be best to start a home set

pictures of a whole rack of each below*

Re: PH or MGM?

I voted the PH chips. Best looking $1 chip.

Re: PH or MGM?

MGM.

With the recent changing of the Bellagio rack, there is no chip classier than the MGM chip. Simple elegance at its finest.

If you are going to buy affordable quarters without the name PH on them, you can do the same for MGM'S. No need to spend mucho dinero on those Detroit quarters.

Re: PH or MGM?

the reason I put it up was I like the blue chip casino quarters, but if I get MGMs I cant get them bc they would both be the same color. I would have to get orange, yellow or brown quarters. Where if I get PH I can get any since I haven't seen any white 25c.

I like them both about the same, just wanted to see what the masses thought (but like I guessed the MGMs seem to be preferred) But there are still plenty of people to check this out, so we will see how it shakes down with more votes. I think chocolate or blue quarters would look awesome with the PH. But then the MGM detroit quarters would look incredible with the MGMs

Maybe I will just do what other CTers would do and get both
Either way I think I'll be happy

This is what I "struggled" with too, especially since it's inevitable that the quarter and $1 chips will be in play at the same time.

Re: PH or MGM?

I am in the minority but I voted for the PH. I have 1/5 of a rack of them in mint condition and they are SWEET!!!! IMHO the MGM blue $1 chips are not even close to the PH $1 chips
