I read the NJ ceramic reviews in that section of this site, and they mention the noticable dimple mark on the side of the chip.

Those reviews are from '05. I understand that there have been a few new versions.

Does the latest incarnation still bear these dimples?

meh It's never bothered me. Look at the pictures posted on this site. Is it noticable enough to bother you?

I have a set of the new V7 Desert Sands. The dimple is barely noticeable at all. No one at my games has ever noticed it.

I recently got a 300 set from NJ through a ps0 promo. Basically, if you look for it, you will find it, but if you don't tell anyone, it'll be your little secret.

I've purchased a 500 and a 300 set of NJ skulls within the last year and like others have said, if you really look you can find them. You won't notice them during regular play and especially if you don't know to look for 'em. I love my skulls.
