Chips: 21 | | | Number of hands dealt per hour by casino dealers? As the thread says - I'm just curious as to what the average number of hands/hour are dealt at a casino hold em game?
Obviously less than online, but waaaaay more than my home game, any ideas? (I know we have a couple of professional/semi professional dealers on the board too).
Apologies if there is a more appropriate section for this, I couldn't see one. |

Chips: 251 | | | Re: Number of hands dealt per hour by casino dealers? 30 hands per hour is maybe about average i'd hope... i know i can do more, but it all hangs on how fast the players are at the table. there's many other factors too - speed/experience of the dealer, type/stakes of game, blah blah blah. once i was stuck dealing on a table where there was a guy who swore at me, and the pit boss did nothing about it. so i proceeded to deal 9 hands in 45 minutes because i was livid. pit boss never said a word about it, because they always teach us "accuracy first, then speed". in retrospect, it was quite comical. we have a zero tolerance for verbal abuse, and the pit boss knew he should have done something, but was too lazy. so he had to listen to a few people complain about how slow i was instead. |

For the average cash game it is usually about 27 if everyone including the dealer is on the ball. In the early stages of a tournament it should be 30. With 20 minute blinds there should be at least 3 full orbits before the first break (when breaks are on the hour), and each player should be on the button at least once per blind level.

that's exactly right. i can sometimes pull an orbit per blind level when they're 15 minutes. |

We have a broad range of skill in our dealers, but when speaking of averges..
30 - 35 hph for Limit HE
25 - 30 hph for No Limit HE
Of course the dealers tend to be only as fast as the slowest player and the largest diffence between average and above average dealers is how they run their game.

My 2c Shane | Thanks for that. What about omaha hi/lo? My guess is around 4-5 hph. At least that's what it feels like! | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
