my first, and only set is nothing special, a 200 chip set of composites, plus 100 "dice" chips bought for 10 dollars, with a cheap case, what did you guys start out on ?

I had the Bicycle-brand interlocking chips in highschool (~ 2 g each). Then I got hot-stamped Nexgen "Bees" in 2005, before finding ChipTalk. Since then, I've emptied my bank account...

By the way, the homeliest game I've ever played was at a ski lodge. We realized 7 or 8 of us played poker (NLHE in particular) and we wanted to get a game going, but we didn't have any chips. We ended up using marshmallows, raisins, and peanuts to represent 3 denominations for a tourney. Seriously. The trick was to avoid eating your "chips".

Like you and many others I'm sure, my first set was indeed a 500 piece, "Casino Weight" Dice chip poker set. I actually had about 1200 of those wonderful things until recently giving them away. After finding this damned community, I've upgraded to a 700 piece tourney set of PNY's, a 650 piece cash set of ASM HH's with custom labels, a 500 piece cash set of the NJ Condado rep's, and currently working on a mixed Paulson casino cash set. Pictured below is an old pic of my pny's, I've since removed the $5 from my set to add more 25/100. I suggest you abort right now before you break the bank like I have.

I was lucky enough to get my hand on Paulson samples before buying my first set, so I started with Pharaohs (old mold).

I would like to add more cardinals to make a big set but might make a smaller higher qualityy clay set.

These were my first.

I started with the plastic red/white/blue chips from Target.

I upgraded to the "dice" chips.........700 fricken hundred of them.

Then I got caught up in HPT and CT, met some MTPL'ers (Michigan Rotating Poker League), played with some Desert Sands. I had to have them. I bought a thousand of them.

Then I realized I needed a cash set so I bought some Ceramic SKulls, found an unbelievable deal on them and bought over 800 of them.

After a few months, I decided, do I want to ceramic sets...........Nope.........sold the Skulls and actually made a small profit. I bought some Hot Stamped "A" mold ASM's........WOW, excellent chips.

In the mean time I had added on to my Desert Sands, I bought 200 more of the 5k, 10k, and 25k chips.

Well just recently I joined the group buy for the Zombie chips/plaques (buying 440 chips and 80 plaques) for a T100,000 Tourney set (I did sell all my 25's, 5k, 10k, and 25k Desert Sands to help pay of the Zombies though).

I don't own the green 25's any more though.




This is my favorite set so far though. I do love my ASM's, that and cash games are the better way to go.

First set was a 500 chip set of Grand Havana Chipco's.

My First set of chips was from wal-mart. 500 dice "REAL CASINO CHIPS". They are really cheap. And I thought they were good at the time. Little did I know about Paulson. I really regret visiting this site.
