Chips: 95 | | | Help me find a Bud Jones chip to build a set with. Hey CT,
I am looking for examples of Bud Jones chips (fantasy or live casino) that could be used for a small stakes cash game. At this point I think I am after the Coin Inlay (CIC), but would also like to see some of the standard BJ chips that my CT brothers and sisters really love. I need a $1, $5, and a $10, $20 or $25 for this set. A fractional would be good too but not really required (I can find a way to remedy this if not available).
Since joining CT last October I have been through the process of wanting to pull the trigger on something too many times (my apologies to other members who were selling things if my waffling at the last minute has pissed you off). I don't know what it is but the fantasy clays out there don't do it for me, and my wants for a custom chip are beyond what appears to be available to anyone without a gaming license. With the flood of Playboy chips (no $1 chips seem to be available to fit my needs, but please prove me wrong) and my recent chance to handle chips at Harrah's Marina and the Borgata in AC, I think that a Bud Jones chip is more likely to keep my interest than anything else.
If anyone has a Bud Jones chip that they really dig I would like to see it. Price is a bit of a limiting factor, but only to the point that I won't pay more than what I would pay if I bought them from a casino cage (unless a finders/shipping fee was involved). I would like to have something purchased in the next little while so that I can use them to win some money from the transient forest fire crews I will be working alongside this summer.
Show me what you got.

The ones you handled at the borgata were V7. The coin in center versions, I'm not sure whether they are a V7 or S type. The Casino at Sea chips are S2. They feel TOTALLY different than V7 chips. I prefer the V7s.
So what I'm saying here is just because its a BJ chip, doesn't mean it will be the same as the ones you liked. Other V7s I know of offhand are Dodge Cities, Southern Elegance, Casino International. So be sure you know which version they are before you jump!

I can't remember ever seeing a $10 or $20 BJ chip, especially in quantity. Maybe I'm wrong though and someone else can confirm this. |

I started a thread on these when I was on the fence about buying a set as I'm more a clay guy than ceramic or plastic. I think the chips look fantastic (esp when splashed together in a pot) and it's a bit puzzling that the general market price has come down for these over the last few mos - except for the higher denom chips. Last year these would have cost you $1.00-$1.50/per but now $1/$5 can be found fir less then a $1/per and the $25 for $0.85-1.20. Since you are looking to put together a cash set, the limited availability of $100s and $500s would be less of an issue for you.
For a cash set of real casino chips these would be fairly good value for money IMHO |
