Chips: 273 | | | Matsui chip question I'm a Paulson (and Paulson-like) guy. I can't stand ceramics, have nothing against them, they're just not my gig.
I have been seeing alot of talk, and like, of Matsui chips. Can someone explain to me these chips? Are they like Bud Jones? Is there a Las Vegas Casino chip that compares or is similar to the style?
I like the looks of them, but have never handled any. Please educate me.
Thanks. |

Chips: 408 | | | Re: Matsui chip question I'd compare Matsui chips to Bud Jones. The only Matsui's that I've handled are my Blue Sands sample chips and my Matsui company sample chips. Based on how my BJ Southern Elegance, and many other BJ chips I've handled, I'd say they most compare to them. Can't go wrong IMO.. especially if you're getting in on the Lion GB... artwork is killer... and all 43mm?? Would love to have a set of those. |

Thanks. | If you like clay stay with it.
I have both, the Matsui chipss and a home & a casino set of Paulsons. I would have to say I love clay over plastic. Though I'm not getting rid of my Matsui WSOP's anytime soon.

Now I have Paulson's, ASM's, Ceramics, Bud Jones, Matsui and now Cartmundi. Have I missed any options yet? Oh, I did skip the dice chip phase of my chip career. |

| I like the looks of them, too.
BUT: Matsui chips don't sound like poker chips, but like dead plastic. They have a very dull, muffled sound to them. Therefore, I wouldn't compare them to Bud Jones; BJ sound like poker chips, Matsuis don't.
If you don't want to handle the chips, but just look at them, they are great.
I can strongly recommend you get some sample chips first before buying a set; I am glad I did it, this cured me from my interest in Matsuis. |

I can totally second that.
I think they look great, but the sound is ugly. I got myself a sample set and i dont like shuffling them at all. |

I love the set (except the $100 chips, I wish it were more black). I am intrigued by them, but won't give up my clays, I love them too much.
This has been very informative, thus far, but I'm still looking for as much info as possible. I guess I just need to find a sample set to really get an idea. |

I also don't really care for ceramics, but I like the fact that they are super easy and cheap to clean after a game. I also use them if I have to bring them somewhere. They also buffer my quality clay chips from the masses. I only bring my clays out for the calm crowd.
