Chips: 925 | | | Putting PNYs into Play How many of you actually put your PNYs into play?
Since all of my are still uncirculated and sharp enough to cut your finger, I am still a little hesistant to put them into play. I am typically the one that gets on people's case for buying chips only for looking and the occasional fondle. Now, I am the one that can't bear to put these beauties into play. Do i put them into play? (I understand they're not "collectable" per say, but they are oh too pretty to put into play) |

Since everyone knows why I don't have my complete set of supplemental chips, I won't go into it again. But since I never had the chips I required I never used my PNY's (for a year and half after I bought them. |

Seriously though, I'd put them into play, and let others appreciate them as well!

Chips: 787 | | | Re: Putting PNYs into Play Here's a solution: sell them to someone and make some $$$.
buy used versions of the same chips for less $.
A lot less pain and hand wringing about chipped chips and hand gunk.
Funny story, sold some St Jo's, bought them back with some of them having been heavily shuffled, slightly chipped and hey, didn't bother me one bit.
They FEEL BETTER. I'm not kidding. |

Chips: 925 | | | Re: Putting PNYs into Play I really want to play with them, but they look so crisp and new. Another thing is that I have other sets that are basically the same breakdown for tourneys, so everytime i have a chance, i end up deferring to another set in order to "preserve" the PNYs, I don't really want to sell them as they're my first chip purchase, but i don't have the heart to put them into play.
Let me extend the question to any new chips, not exclusive to PNY. How do you guys feel in general about putting new chips into play? Say Ritz, Vineyard, Crystal Park, whatever they may be.
Funny thing is, i now have a 1200+ set of all mint Secondary St. Jos for a ultra large, ultra flexible cash game, but i wouldn't hesistate to put those into play as they are not brand spanking new. Maybe if enough of you guys voice your opinion, i will gain the courage to open up and put my beloved PNYs into play! |

Chips: 624 | | | Re: Putting PNYs into Play They were also my first clay/quality chip purchase. They were bought with the intentions of using them, they are my main and only tourney set for now. Your damn right they're getting played. Does that mean I will allow the players to splash/loft the $500's or any of them for that matter? Not a chance. They are meant to be played, not abused. They can maintain their quality while still being in use and as someone said, there's nothing wrong with a broken in Paulson casino chip. They're not Olivias, the beloved(overated) Ritz, or any other chip that costs an arm and a leg. Play on. |

Chips: 1,137 | | | Re: Putting PNYs into Play I have the same problem with putting new chips into play.....But for the New Yorkers, they are by far the least expensive chips out there of this quality, so you can always buy more later. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
