Chips: 16 | | | The Perfect Poker Chip Hi there,
looking at all kinds of pokerchips (from interlocking chips to ASMs), I always found something that didn't quite met my taste.
For example, why does it have to say "River Poker Tour" on NexGens? I don't host a River Poker Tour, nor does my weekly home game have anything to do with steamboats.
Another example: Say, I wanted PLAIN solids. Are ASMs plain? Not really. Got the "H"(my name doesn't begin with an H), the Roman stuff, the "A"(I don't live in America, Austria, or Australia, and my name also doesn't start with an A) etc. There's always something stamped in the chips. Even the "dice" faux clays, which are considered some of the plainest chips around got at least the... well, the DICE. Poker is about rolling dice, right!?
Also, even if I liked 11.5g "Suited" or "Dice" chips because of their plain look and price, they are still 11.5g!!! But being poker enthusiast, I want 10g!!!
Paulsons are expensive, and damage your health LOL, Ceramics chip off in the long run, Jetons are too light, NexGens are too heavy, Super Diamonds do not have a recessed centre, etc. etc.
So, my question to you is:
What would your perfect poker chip be like?
Here's my perfect pokerchip:
- 10g
- made of plastic (makes it cheap), but no metal insert
- got the cross-hatch of the faux clays
- got the recessed centre of the NexGens
- comes in 16 colors: white, grey, black, red, green, light green, blue, light blue, pink, orange, yellow, purple, lavender, brown, plum, zyan
- comes in three versions: solids, w/ single colored edge spots, or w/ multi-colored edge spots (the edge spot colors are to look nice!)
- you can buy labels that fit exactly into the recessed centre for your home printer
- there are no engravements on the chips (no bees, ""Las Vegas", or dice)!
- they cost max. $0.20 each
Greets,
KampfHase
BTW, to all the poker chip manufacturers out there! Please, make me some of these perfect poker chips of mine! |

What's wrong with Bud Jones V7? 10g, plastic, no mold just patterns and denominations and you can relabel them easily with vinyl labels. Though they won't be 20 cents each Quote:

2nd reason is- theyre a hybrid injection/compression chip- machinery runs higher pressures meaning the material can be made more dense then abs/injection molded chips.
More density = more weight per volume.
Hmmm sounds like the perfect chip to me LOL
( except that L running around the chip- your name staret with L by chance?)

That is, instead of a metal slug, perhaps a thin skelletal insert to give a Nexgen-ish chip weight and feel much like a casino chip. The only thing I don't like about my Nexgens is the muted, yet nonetheless present, "clank" from a metal slug insert.
Just because you use an insert, that doesn't mean you have to make a 11g-12g chip. Imagine...the softer Nexgen plastic, the cross-hatching of a Faux Clay, Nexgen-like edgespots, a 1" recessed center for home-brewed inlays, and a wafer-thin metal insert to give the chip the pleasant sound & weight of a 10g casino chip...could be a great chip!

Concerning the L running round on the ProGens: that's my point; keep it plain! Get rid of the Ls, As, Hs, horses, borders, bees, Ts, Top Hat and Canes, etc. |

jw | Sounds like a first generation Monaco. Trouble is, they are going extinct and they have molding issues where the colors meet. http://www.chiptalk.net/forum/review...w-jeff123.html |
