Chips: 738 | | | mixed cash set considerations... help plz i've finally taken the plunge and ordered some $1 chips today to get really started with a mixed casino cash set. of course i'm a little bit thrilled now and i'm thinking about other denoms to go with the $1 chips.
i have some CP $10 chips i was planning to use, but i think a $5 chip might work better for the intended games (mostly .25/.25 NL, sometimes .25/.50 NL). that would make a $10 chip obsolete and i'm also not so sure if the $10 CPs would fit.
here's a pic of the $1 chips i'm awaiting eagerly:
i thought about vineyards as $5 chip. i'm open for other suggestions as well, but what do you think? (not my pic btw)
and a picture of the CPs for comparison:
so what do you think? $5, $10 or both? |

If someone rebuys for $20, I just give them two of the $10s. Works fine. The common thinking is that you should have a $20 or $25 chip, but it's your set. Do what you want! I did! |

I've got 6 racks of Palms $1s now (yes, I'm sick). Love 'em! And I've been tempted to get some Vineyards $5s to alternate with my Dunes $5s. Basically, that would half the wear on them, and give me the choice between traditional and Cali colours, depending on my mood. Besides, I use a hot-pink Isle of Capri 50¢ for SB in $1/$2 FL and dime-ante 50¢/$1 stud games, and it clashes a little with the red Dunes.
I think you'll definitely want some $10s or $20s for re-buys, especially if you don't want more than a rack of $5s... The CP $10s look great. As I understand it, CP $20s are harder to find (read expensive). Vineyards $20s are reasonably easy to get, but if you want your set completely "mixed" (without repeats), keep the Vineyard $5s and look for another $20 -- maybe the Palais de Congress... if you can find them! Or, if you like 43 mm, the Dunes $20 (Baccarat) is pretty sweet, albeit pricey. |

Chips: 738 | | | Re: mixed cash set considerations... help plz thx for the input everyone. you've definitely convinced me to use both, and the more i look at the pics together, the more i like the thought.
the CPs look great and i think they work pretty good in terms of edgespot progression. i'm just not sure how the colors work together, but i can still trade them later if i feel like. Quote:
