Chip Sickness????

Do we have a name for this chip addiction that all us seem to have. It's worse then drugs and probily more expensive. I like to call it, the Chip Monkey.
Since coming here I've bought 800 PNYs, 500 of the '98 bonds, just bought 1000 Grand Casino Gulfports and asst. singles, Rounders props, WSOP chips, and casino LTDs.
So somebody tell me how to get this monkey, this Chip Monkey off my back.

Please Help
My name is Mutt and I am a chip addict.

Re: Chip Sickness????

why would you want to get rid of it? I don't have a sickness. So what that I want to constantly search for more chips than I need. Its not about need, its about desire.

what is it they say about denial?........hmmmmmm

B

oh, before I forget......do you have any pics of your chips?

If you can see your floor, you don't have a problem.
If you can't see it, then your name is "Noelsarchs".

Re: Chip Sickness????

What I do when I can't get a chip set I want so bad is be pessimistic about it. I look ahead to the future to when the magic has run out from the chips. So I won't feen for them so bad. I also try to see the chips as bad luck if I were to use them. I imagine myself loosing bad and a lot of money with them. Basically anything I can to suppress the chip rage. The lead scare was working for a while but,I hated to see the non worry post about it.

Right now I'm trying to set my attention back to just being contempt and find myself reading more.....But during some paragraph of reading....I think about chips and realize that I just visually skipped over 10 pages of the book thinking about chips. My chip anonymous 12 step program needs some fine tuning

I thought I was cured until I saw this . Actually I am a recovering chipahaolic. I haven't bought any new chips in awhile. I did buy some labels for a friends chips for our poker leaque, but since deciding to go custom and hoping other than some add ons to it, I have been cured from the disease of buying used casino chips and putting together sets. My hope is that after getting about 1,000 custom ASM's that my chip purchasing days will be over, oh and my wife seconds that. Now maybe I should take up drinking to fill the void
