There many great designers around who'd like to help you out... except me, I'm to dumb for that whole designing thing.

When I first got here I started by reading all the chip reviews and going through the custom chip galleries to get ideas. From there I would suggest sending off for samples of the chips that interest you. Often what looks perfect on the screen just doesn't feel or handle like you'd like.

Also, the people on this site are good people and are usually willing to help.

Welcome! I'm relatively new myself but, I can already attest to the fact that the people around here are great.

Look through the chip gallaries for ideas and read the reviews. There is definitely a lot of information to absorb.
