He wanted min bid of $600 for the 400 orig... so 1.50 a chip to start! At least he is at $1 a chip now... they are dirty and in all honestly the edges look pretty rounded in the stacks but the pics arent great so who really knows! He must think the other denoms are worth $3 to $8 dollars each! lol |

Chips: 74 | | | Re: I smell a cage sale.. talked to him through email when i was looking for 1000 - 1500 $1 chips. at that time he told me the $1's were worth over $2.00 each. he hasnt had much luck on ebay. think he has been from $2.50 to $1.50 to $1.00 and still nothing.
excerpt: 50 of my $100 chips get around $1,000 up to $1,250, 50 $25 chips can get $500 to $750 ... he also said that his mint $1's got $10 - $15 last year. he's sold over 25000 in the past 4 years.
he also said there are 2 versions of the $1. one with the city and one with out.
get'em down around .50c each and i will buy them.
i like the edgespot
havent seen any of the upper denoms. |

Chips: 628 | | | Re: I smell a cage sale.. I recall last year, someone trying to sell a ton of these chips. The seller thought these would be the next big thing, ie Vineyards. I do not recall many sales that closed on Ebay, if there was at all. They wanted too much money for a mediocre looking Paulson. I think the price was $3 for a mint Players Pauslson chip. Definitely a miscalculation on the seller's behalf. I wonder if this guy is affilated with the original seller. |

Chips: 18,645 | | | Re: I smell a cage sale.. These chips are real nice casino Paulsons, though the art (inlay) is mediocre IMO. A nice playable cash set should fetch about a buck apiece in today's market, maybe a tad higher. |

While I wouldn't nor do I know anyone who would pay this much for these chips, I don't think its unreasonable to ask for what you want. It seems there is a little snakeoil in this auction too. But who cares?
We do our homework to get savvy. Let him do some himself.
try laying out the cash to buy out a cage and see if you feel the same way.

I didn't mean you or anyone else on here for that manner so please don't take offense - I meant everyone that I have encountered recently on ebay is borderline crazy...
Here is this guy's response.... $5 Red chips listed @ $4.99, $25 Green chip @ $8.99, $100 Black chip old listing price or last years @$19.99 all chips was cleaned. The $1 chips up now cleaned I was getting $2.49-$2.99 each-per 100 last year. With any special and fair request I'm always willing to work out a deal with serious buyers, I have been lucky and have had about 15 really serious buyers over the last 4 years. I have sold over 30,000 of this chips and most large sets are bought by and/or for private weekly games. As I said I'm fair and willing to sell if the price is right and fair on any set size. I have over 10,000 total chips remaining, I have another $1 chip that was put in play only a couple of weeks before I closed the doors. Those chips was offered last year $9.99 each and I have sold them for as low as $5.99 in bulk. The $25, $100 chips appear new on most chips, some of the $25 chips show very minor wear and dirt. The other $1 chips I sold for $9.99 most are just like new, but was placed into play for the two weeks.
Thanks for your interest and question. oh boy....
excuse me - I have to mortgage my house now |
