Are they anywhere similar in feel, does anyone know?
No, not really. Faux clays feel better.
Like you said yourself, order some and see for yourself. There are two versions of super diamonds. The 9 gram ones are better than the 7, but still not as good as the faux clays.
Samples will not help! I ordered diamonds from DCG on two different ocassions and received 3 different types of diamond chips. From what I understand there are several vendors in China that make them and they are not alike in quality, feel, color (slightly different shades) or sound. The worst part is that there is no way of knowing which diamond chip you will get as the same vendor may have several different versions and like in my case send you different types with the same order. Faux clays are pretty much gone except for two colors. I think in the lowest price range, the best deal are the 10g sopranos.

Exactly right!
Because it's hard to get all the colors you would need with the Fauxs, I also recommend going with the Sopranos.
