Since they are both made by Blue Chip, go with the style you like best.
I happen to like both of them but would put the Desert Palms first due to the custom mold made just for that set.

NJs for me since I got them.
I like prefer the textured inlay over the slick onlay of the DPs and also the fact, that the "Nevada" mold was a real casino mold used in Nevada in the 70s and 80s.
But this is all down to personal preferences, as mentioned, these are actually the same chips, because they're both made by BCC.

NJ Clays, but I'm biased. That happens to be my 20 player tourney set. On the plus side, nice mold, colors and edgespots. |

NJ's, but as stated, just a personal preference. I've had samples of the Palms but just prefer the NJ look. |

I have always loved the NJ mold. That exact mold was used (according to Nevada Jacks) in 34 casinos starting in the 60's, including the Aladdin, Sahara, Circus Circus, Flamingo and Lady Luck. I love the idea that you can buy a new chip struck from the same mold as all those casinos. If I can scrape together my chip budget, NJ clays are my next purchase. |

Desert Palms all the way - not even close. I have one set of Paulson's, three sets of Blue Chip's, one set of Chipco's, and one set of Nevada Jacks Ceramics and the Desert Palms are by and far my most favorite.

Desert Palms (not even close) mostly because of the great edgespot progression, wide range of demoninations and I like the fact that each chip has its own colored inlay. |
