Hi All,

I'm planning to head to Vegas the 1st week in Dec. Just wondering anybody knows of any good 1 table sit n gos. I play mainly 1/2 NL at Venetian and also looking to try the 2/4 NL at Mandalay Bay. Anyone ever play the 2/4NL. Max buy in is $400.

They have information on every room, the games they play, etc.

In general, don't play SNG's. They are popular online, but in Vegas they aren't a good buy. You pay a larger percentage to the house in SNG's, and you have very little playability in chips, everyone starts out shortstacked (most of the times, you start out with 20x or 25x the big blind).

Read on allvegaspoker about the different tournaments, but don't mess with the SNG's. If you play on the north end of the strip by Venetian, I know the TI has a good $60ish tourney. Venetian has the best tourney's in town, but they aren't any less than $150. another good reasonably priced tourney is at PH..

Actually, SNG's are as popular in Vegas anymore. Most rooms are starting to have set tourney schedules instead of SNG's. Most rooms have more than 1 tourney per day though, so you can just set out a schedule since you know when things will start.

But you are right on the rooms that have them, Mirage is the biggest SNG room. Venetian has them some as well. A few others do at busy times, but not all of them anymore.

I just stayed at the Mirage in early Sept. They are constantly running $75, $110, and $180 SnG's. The $75 and $110 seem to fill up the fastest. You do pay about $10 to the house and only the top 2 are paid (unless a deal is cut by the players). As a word of warning - the play is really loose and donkish, especially in the $75 game. I had to play super TAG in the ones I played, but that startegy worked well (won 2 came in 2nd in the 3rd). You get progresively more chips as the buy in goes up.

I would highly recomend the $60 toruney at the TI. They run it 5 or 6 times a day. You start with 2000 in chips and there is an optional $5 add on for 1000 chips at the first break. The $5 goes to the dealers - it is optional but everyone gets the extra 1000 chips. It is a toruney with "alternates" allowed through the first break. That means you can buy back in if you get knocked out. It also means new players can join through the first hour as seats become available. They call it alternates allowed because if you get knocked out you can buy back in, but may have to wait for a seat to open up if there are laready people waiting. I played in 4 of them when I was there last May - lots of fun
