Help me decide: Samurai Palace $25 vs. Quarter Pie

Please help me decide whether I should use the Samurai Palace $25 or Quarter Pie for my cash set.

Quarter Pie (photo from 99%evil)

$25 (photo from hod)

I should add that my $1's are more similar to hod's in that they are more blue and less green - if that matters.

Brando--that's a really hard one. The $25s look very handsome against the red $5s, but I have about 20 quarter pies, and they are very yummy--one of the prettiest chips out there. I would say go for the quarter pies, just because they are so unique, and what other set will you have to use them in? Also, if for any reason Samurais are no longer produced, there will be far fewer quarter pies out there than $25s....

But you can't go wrong either way.

The obvious chip junkie answer - get both!!!

This way you can use the quarter pies which are awesome but also have the $25 chips in the event you ever need "flexibility" you will have the quarter pies available to supplement whatever you need. Plus this way you get more chips - everybody wins.

As most CTers probably know, I have both cash and tourney sets of Samurais. I use the non-denom chip with the cash set, and use the $25s and up for tournaments (where the non-denom has occasionally filled in for a T10,000 at the end of a T50,000 tournament). So far, the non-denom chip has mostly been used as a 5¢ or 10¢ chip for stud cash games (i.e., antes), but in principle, it will serve as a $20 chip in 25¢/50¢ and/or 50¢/$1 NLHE (if we ever run out of $5s... have been very close a couple of times).

Use it like this. It's versatile and damn good looking.
